🎨 Behind the “Art Worker Status”: how does Belgium supports creative labour ? 👉Last week, Hélène Mariaud, PhD researcher at GRESAC, presented her work at the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre Research Symposium 2026 at Newcastle University Business School. Her contribution explores how Belgium’s unique “art worker status” shapes artistic careers such as artistic photography at the intersection of cultural policy and social protection. This raises important questions about how we support creative work in practice. The contribution mobilises qualitative data from Hélène Mariaud’s ongoing doctoral research project on the professional trajectories of artistic photographers in Belgium. #artworker #photography #artisticlife #artsresearch #labourmarket

📖 New issue of ENCATC magazine ! We are delighted to announce the publication of this new issue, whose editorial has been written by Anne-Sophie V. Radermecker. 👉 This issue invites us to rethink the art market beyond clichés and purely commercial logic A market that appears as: ➡️ a space for the circulation of objects… and meanings ➡️ a place where values, expertise and legitimacy are redefined ➡️ an observatory of contemporary transformations 📲 The magazine is available here: /media/8567-magazine_issue12-final.pdf 🙏 Thank you to everyone involved in this publication, in particular the teams at GRESAC and MOOVA for their contribution ! #ArtMarket #ArtResearch #ENCATC #CulturalEconomics #ArtAndCulture
