Do you have memories of working life at Moor Pool? ๐จโ๐ณ๐ฉโ๐๐ท
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker - what did previous residents of Moor Pool do for a living and what was their daily life like? The theme for this year's Heritage Open Days is 'Everyday working lives' and we are delving into Moor Poolโs working past.
Did you, your parents or grandparents work at Chad Valley, teach at a local school or factory, or something else? Did you work at the Builderโs Yard or for Harborne Tenants? Run a business or trade from home? Do you remember what your neighbours did? How did they travel to work? Do you have any stories you can share about working life at Moor Pool?
We would love to hear your stories! Please get in touch with Barbara at [email protected].
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Happy International Day of Families!

This National Limerick Day, we're celebrating the adorable family of ducks who have made the Pool their home this spring. ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
There once were some ducks at Moor Pool,
Who thought "this place is really quite cool".
With ducklings in tow,
Theyโd paddle just so,
Making ripples that shimmered like jewels.
๐ธ Mental Health Awareness Week ๐ธ
In todayโs fast-paced world, places that encourage us to slow down and connect with our surroundings are more important than ever. Designed with people, nature and community in mind, Moor Pool continues to show how thoughtful planning can support wellbeing, more than a hundred years after it was first imagined.

At the start of this year, we were delighted to receive funding from the Pilgrim Trust to carry out an audit on Moor Poolโs Collection store.
This important project gave us the opportunity to take a closer look at how our historic items are stored and cared for, helping ensure they are preserved for future generations.

As we do the final bits of prep for our plant sale on Saturday, weโd like to introduce our gardening volunteer superheroes! ๐ฆธ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Each of them has their own superpower - whether itโs knowing how to grow artichokes or being handy with a watering can. Not all heroes wear capes - some wear wellies!๐ซ
Theyโve all worked incredibly hard to get everything ready for the plant sale and we canโt wait for you to see the fruits of their labour on Saturday. ๐ฑ
A very big thank you to Ruby for creating this brilliant video!
