The Darla Moore School of Business was thrilled to host our benefactor and namesake for a fireside chat on Monday evening. Darla Moore met with faculty, staff and Ph.D. students followed by an at-capacity special session for current students.
Darla said learning artificial intelligence will be “transformational” and instrumental for current and future business leaders. She also said students should concentrate on learning processes and systems to stay competitive in the global business world.
She identified a number of attributes current #BuiltAtDarlaMoore students must have to be successful. A few include:
-Learning to be adaptable and resilient and being willing to take risks
-Diligence in building a network, finding mentors and focusing on relationships
-Exuding an “aura of confidence” and being curious
Students also learned Darla’s favorite music is Motown, especially Aretha Franklin. 🎤😊
Stay tuned for more Darla wisdom! #DarlaMooreweek

Not all of Cocky’s biggest moments happen on the field. Walker Weaver and Emma Connelly have spent four years helping children in South Carolina fall in love with reading by putting the Cocky in Cocky’s Reading Express. 📚

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our Second Annual Leadership Summit last week, and a special thanks to all of our speakers and panelists. You made it a great event! We loved getting to chat with everyone at the happy hour afterward as well.
2010 Moore School graduate Matt Conley recently took the opportunity to share his experience with us!
"The Moore School was instrumental in helping me discover my career passions and providing the building blocks for success. From hands-on experience with Capstone projects and the lasting relationships made with classmates, the Moore School was truly a transformational journey.
MGSC 395 with Professor Yazel opened my eyes to the world of operations and supply chain. Combined with my interest in cost accounting, this led to a dual major in Global Supply Chain and Operations Management (GSCOM) and Accounting that has served me well throughout various roles and industries. Dr. Ahire, Dr. Jensen and Dr. Galbreth in GSCOM stand out for their commitment to the program, its students and establishing the department for its national notoriety. I'm very thankful to the Moore School and the doors it helped open for me."
What a pleasure to go back to @uofsc to share the Tailgating journey with marketing class and be on the other side of the classroom 20 years later!

It’s tax season and Bailey Fusco (‘24 B.S., ‘25 MACC) is ready!
The MACC graduate chose the Moore School to deepen her tax expertise, prepare for the CPA exam and gain real-world experience she now uses every day.
“The most valuable takeaway was the strong foundation in tax technical knowledge that I continue to rely on in my career.”
From rigorous coursework to a supportive cohort, Bailey says the MACC program helped set her up for success—during tax season and beyond.
