✨ Artist highlight Nicola Samorì in Creature, Creatori - San Francesco e l'arte contemporanea at MAXXI Museum curated by Beatrice Buscaroli 📆 On view from Friday, May 22 📸 Nicola Samorì, Crudo Sasso, 2026, oil on pink onyx, 82 x 66 cm (detail) The vision of St Francis becomes a lens for reinterpreting Italian art from the second half of the twentieth century to the present day. The exhibition goes beyond the iconographic image of St Francis to recount his way of looking at the world and the ethical value of his thinking. His vision, as expressed in the Canticle of the Creatures, serves as a starting point for reinterpreting Italian art from the post-war period to the present day. In the exhibition, the works in the MAXXI Collection dialogue with those of similar themes and languages. Some works, created specifically for the occasion, interpret the Franciscan gaze by bringing together symbols, figures and nature. 📆 On view from May 22 to September 20 📍 MAXXI - Museu nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, Via Guido Reni 4a, 00196 Rome 🕑 Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 am to 7 pm

// Phantom Tales, by Pedro Zhang “I visited Pedro Zhang’s exhibition on an afternoon bathed in near-excessive light, which contrasted with the atmospheric density of the works on display. I had already encountered his work at Galeria Monitor, as part of Pequenas Notas Sobre Figuração II—where it engaged in dialogue with other artists—and that prior experience set the stage for anticipation, excitement, and an attentive predisposition toward this new encounter.“ The exhibition is open until May 30, 2026. / 📝 Texto de Maria Inês Augusto @amariainesaugusto disponível em umbigo.space, secção On Going // Text by @amariainesaugusto available at umbigo.space/en, On Going section. © Bruno Lopes / Umbigo.space – Apoio/Support: República Portuguesa – Cultura, Juventude e Desporto / @dg.artes , e/and @fundacaomeo
