#mecfsawareness #meawarenessday This sums up the horrific discrimination I have endured since this disease hit me in 1992. Only recently have mainstream medical centers like UCLA treated me straight up, as federal funds for research finally commenced 10 years ago (vs years prior fighting off many institutional threats). People wonder why I am so versed in natural medicine and treatments, high nutrition superfoods, and mystic practices for healing, because these were my ONLY options and how I made it back from near death and manage day to day. The medical discrimination was/is still criminal. I only recently was properly also diagnosed for mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) vs suffering discrimination for years as an enviromental illness/ multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) sufferer. Same illness different titles. Often MCAS and ME/CFS are together and I had Fibromyalgia, but cured that with diet and more. They all involve mitochondrial disfunction stuck on alarm, in part from toxic loads we’ve poisoned the Earth and ourselves with, consequently flooding the body with histamine, cytokines…inflammation which causes many symptoms and weakness to the point of needing a wheelchair or being bedridden and being bedridden. It can get life threatening and I’ve been near death twice. Think on the implications of this: Petrochemicals are in all the things that make my symptoms go off: paint, phthalate ridden air fresheners and dryer sheets, mold resistancy and fire retardant chemicals in building material, outgassing plastic components, tires, formaldehyde, vinyl, adhesives (like bandaids), glues, pesticides, wood stain, propylene glycol in skin products, petroleum jelly, binders in pharmaceutical medication and vaccinations, urban fire smoke and particulates in the ash, on and on and on… It took years to realize this, that all the things which have triggered me over the years all have this common denominator. We are being poisoned by petrochemical companies…

NEED ME at the ONE Archives at the USC Libraries is on view through June 27, a generous, ample, rich exhibition of a history and time I was steeped in as a teenager and early 20s in SF, although it docs the LA scenes and some from NYC. With many photographs by @shereerose108 and relics from #bobflannagan , @ronathey_4 , and photos by and of @anniesprinkled and much much more… @oneinstitutela @onearchivesusc #piercing #shereerose #ronathey #anniesprinkle

They made a hardcover book! The City of West Hollywood for its 40th anniversary, Art in Odd Places, and curator Deborah Oliver. Our Association of Hysteric Curator’s contingent made the frontispiece with Maya Mackrandilal‘s work Ritual For the Future, and 3 photos from my Creature in the Time of the Narwhal piece got in. Every artist who performed of course in is in the book. The cover is Constance Jaquay Strickland’s amazing: Mercy, An Ode to Black Women’s Free Labor. My maternal grandmother, my uncle, a fam friend, my mother, and my maternal grandfather in Los Angeles in the early 1950s. The mother wounds of betrayal go back generations. We have all worked on repair. It is what it is. My fam rooted my contributions to discourses on feminism, racism, de-colonialism, healing, mysticism etc., and the intersectionality of these and more. I continue to work on it. #mothersday2026

I am happy to announce I will be performing with Guillermo Gómez-Peña as part of La Pocha Nostra, bringing my Femme Fauna animal-women hybrid methods to Salon des Refusés: A Participatory Figure Drawing Ritual! at and presented by @saintjosephsartsfoundation RSVP link in bio Wednesday, May 20: 6:30-9:30 pm PDT 1401 Howard St, San Francisco, CA $10 for patrons. General ticket $20/person Salon des Refusés: A Participatory Drawing Ritual Hosted by La Pocha Nostra La Pocha Nostra invites you to an evening where the traditional life drawing class becomes a live performance laboratory. For centuries, artists have gathered around the human body to study proportion, discipline, and form. Salon des Refusés revisits this tradition and turns it inside out. Throughout the night, a rotating cast of models, dancers, and performance artists will inhabit a series of live tableaux across the historic nave of Saint Joseph’s Arts Society. Some poses will reference classical traditions; others will move toward improvisation, theatricality, and aesthetic disruption. Audience members are invited to draw, sketch, or simply observe as the room evolves from careful observation to expressive experimentation. The evening is guided by La Pocha Nostra @lapochanostra founder Guillermo Gómez-Peña @mad.mex55 and close collaborators Courtney Desiree Morris and Rachel Znerold. No drawing experience is necessary. Bring curiosity, a sketchbook, and a willingness to become part of the ritual. Audience members are encouraged to bring: Sketchbooks, pencils, water-based markers, watercolor sets Materials provided: Pencils, newsprint, drawing boards (limited quantity) Materials not allowed: Charcoal, oil paint, acrylic paint, spray fixative, pastels Photography policy: No photography or video during the drawing session. The focus is on presence and on documentation through drawing. #figuredrawings #performanceart #lapochanostra #guillermogomezpeña #monetclark

Something I just came across, its from 9/24. This work is rich, this linage, for a chronically ill artist with a life threatening condition like myself, but not just, rich for people with any of the conditions of being alive. #bobflanagan #shereerose #ronathey @ronathey_4 @shereerose108
