I’m Mona — a DJ, creative producer, and culture strategist originally from New Orleans and now based in Los Angeles.
I started my career working in music and fashion in NYC, executing digital and experiential campaigns for major brands before spending 5 years the marketing team at Google, where I learned how one of the biggest tech brands in the world approaches storytelling, audience, and scale.
I recently left to build something closer to the things that always inspired me — music, creativity, community, and the cultural moments that bring people together.
These days I work across DJing, creative direction, culture strategy, and collaborations with artists and brands.

I’ve been a fan of Skepta as a rap artist and creative for years, but it was in 2023 that I had the opportunity to see my first Mas Tiempo show in NYC (see last pic), 3 months before I would take my first dj lesson. I was completely in awe of Skepta in this capacity (it’s giving range), the sonic journey of the set, the way he held the room with bated breath and was an energy maestro. I was enraptured like everyone else, and this opportunity felt like a full circle moment.
A big thanks to everyone who came out to support and fellow opener @abanamusic , this was an experience I’ll never forget.

🔊 THE GROOVE WAS THE POINT 🔊
one of my favorite parts of djing is when I get totally locked in with the crowd and we reach a groove flow state, everybody on the dance floor in an energetic harmony. I’m happiest when I can catch that groove and I tried to capture some of that magic in my latest mix, recorded live in venice.

this was truly a trip down memory lane…even though some photos only from January it already feels like a world apart from the present moment…moments frozen in time —
a visual rolodex of the varied human experience:rolling hills to skyscrapers, dance floors to meditation circles, wall art in galleries to audible art in living rooms, & most cherished, many people I’m lucky to call friends sharing art, sharing joy, or simply in their element.
grateful for this sweet life and this chapter I’m moving through, frozen for a moment in time.
