Unpopular opinion: most successful stylists didnât come from a classroom they built it through experience, instincts, and being in the right rooms.
You either have the eye⌠or you donât.
Yes, courses can help with fundamentals
but if you really want to last in this industry learn business!
Because talent might get you booked once
but knowing how to run your business is what gets you paid consistently! đđ°â #becomeastylist #losangelesstylist #buildabusiness #fashionjobs
Cheers! To the girls running on coffee, dry shampoo, carrying garment bags, long set hours, early call times, and somehow still making it look effortless.

Being a wardrobe stylist opened doors I didnât even know existed.
I went from styling to producing my own fashion show in Napa Valley where wine + fashion met independent designers and emerging talent. Two years. Two sold-out shows. Finalist recognition in a project by Pharrell Williams.
But behind the scenes?
It wasnât just creativity it was contracts, permits, budgets, and a LOT of risk.
The first year we ran on passion sponsorships, volunteers, and donations.
The second year? We leveled up and paid our key departments wardrobe, makeup, photography.
Hereâs what nobody tells you about producing a show,
you canât do everything alone and the legal + financial side will make or break you.
3 things you NEED to know before producing a fashion show:
1. Lock in your legal early permits, insurance, contracts, and liability waivers are non-negotiable. Protect yourself and your team.
2. Budget beyond aesthetics equipment, venue, staffing, and last minute costs add up FAST. Always over budget.
3. Prioritize your payouts decide early who gets paid first and structure your finances accordingly. Respect your team and build sustainability.

As a stylist, you have to think bigger than your city you have to think global.
I made the decision to invest in myself and travel to Paris Fashion Week not just for the experience, but for the positioning. Being in rooms like this shifts how people see you, your brand, and your level.
When you put yourself in global spaces, youâre no longer just âlocalâ you become part of the industry conversation.
This is your reminder: invest in your visibility. It will always pay you back. #fashionstylist #becomeastylist

Japan showed me a slower, softer way of living.
And for once⌠I felt calm.
It made me realize how much noise we normalize.
How much chaos we call âsuccess.â
But I also thought about my culture
how we love loudly, how we connect deeply.
Different doesnât mean better.
Just⌠different.
Iâm coming back with a quieter mind,
more intention,
and a new definition of what living well means to me. #japan #travel Japan, food, travel to Japan
