TRUE STORY: this photo was taken three years ago. And we, the team at Brothy, just sat on it because we wanted to design/print the perfect cookbook.
A million things came up, and we never got around to making that perfect cookbook… but every time I went into my Google Drive I thought, “These pictures are just too good to rot here.”
So maybe there can be a circuitous moral about the very real, very soul crushing weight of perfectionism and self-inflicted expectations. Throw caution to the wind! Post like it’s 2014! Live la vida loca!

For those of you who don’t know, I license all of my “idk what to do with this but I still love it” photos through @withstills . Honored to have won Image of the Year, and I got a freaking TROPHY out of it too?! I told my fam that I haven’t been given a trophy since the participation trophies were handed out for my 7th grade lacrosse team (lol) so this was a whole vibe for me.

I started almost immediately after we got Lucy, two years ago. I love randomly finding them around the apartment and being all, “OooOoooOoohh! A WHISKER!” as I go add it to my stash 🙃💘
My childhood earring collection 🥹
There was this very sparkly jewelry kiosk at the mall that my mom and I would spend a lot of time looking at every time we went, pretzel bites in hand, the smell of chlorine from the fountain enveloping us…am I painting the picture?? I would drop (not subtle) hints at the pairs of earrings I really loved and she would remember them for when the holidays or my birthday would come around. The dragonfly ones were my favorite for yearsss! I think it was sad for both of us when I decided to stop wearing earrings in high school, but I still like to open the tin I keep them in and go back to that happy place sometimes.
