A last post before holidays to honour the incredible trajectory of #beforethestorm and its closing. We can't express how much this process has touched us, how much we learned and how much more ready we are for any storms to come. Together with an amazing team of dreamers and storms experts we created this installation.
We listened, we played, we shared meals, we cried, we laughed, we sang, we talked about the past, we dreamed about the future, we built, we stumbled, we supported, we carried, we cared, we cleaned. We gave voices to the storms- those that had shaped us, and those still whispering in the horizon. We've all been through storms. Different kinds. Some are light. Some are heavy. Some pass quickly. Some stay for a while. From their echoes, we began to trace the tools, knowledge, and practices we hold to move through them.
This space was both a process and a prototype- an evolving form of collective knowledge that offers a much needed societal refuge: a place of preparation, repair, shelter and contemplation. Passed from one another. Held both individually and collectively.
*Almost no material has been bought for this installation. Everything was found, brought from home, and built there. Just as times of crisis we simply use what we have
Thanks to
