Happy Worker’s Day 2026.
I had the special honour of photographing Mrs. Mercy Oviri for EmpireWithin.
I’m totally in love with her and I love her mindset towards her work.
I feel too many people treat the work they do as an inconvenience or as if they are doing people a favour.
Let’s be honest, if more people loved their works, we wouldn’t have cases of negligence or corruption at workplaces.
She really does her work with a fervor that is admirable and I think that makes her worthy of being celebrated on Worker’s Day.

A year ago, I quietly stepped away from this space and chose a different path, one that led me back to the 9–5 life.
This past year has stretched me in ways I didn’t expect… it’s been a mix of growth, learning, unlearning, and making impacts.
Do I miss being here? Maybe a little… but I have found peace where I am.
Will I be back here anytime soon? I can’t say for sure… Allahu A’lam (Allah knows best).
But in this moment, my heart is full. I am grateful for where I am, for how far I have come, and for what lies ahead.
