Visual artist and environmentalist Benjamin (Ben) Von Wong thought long and hard about the purpose of his work. "(When) I started building an audience, I went from 10K followers in 2012 to 350K followers by 2015, and at some point I was like 'I can just create things that draw a lot of attention to the world, but to what (end)? Is it just to get views? To sell art? To travel and speak at the next conference? There has to be something more to that." It's one thing to "do better," -- it's the cause that can keep the effort going, or not. That's why an aligned community is so important. If we "do better", we get closer to having more of what matters: more resources from a one-of-a-kind Earth, more art for more generations, more community, for one person ready to do better.
