On May 28th, MOD hosts KARJU LAURISTIN's farewell tour, with kes. and Tuvipoeg along for the ride.
●●●
KARJU LAURISTIN, the academic punk band of the University of Tartu's Institute of Social Sciences, is disbanding at the start of summer. But before they do, the lads will present their debut album and embark on a symbolic farewell tour, joined by their friends kes. and Tuvipoeg.
It should be noted that this will be KARJU LAURISTIN's first and last performance in Tallinn, as the band will retire after the tour concludes. Attendance is mandatory for all students and non-students alike, as this counts as an exam performance – for both the audience and the bands. Be there or get an F on Moodle!
● More info: MOD's Facebook.
● Tickets: Pre-sale 5 EUR / door 10 EUR
○About the bands○
● KARJU LAURISTIN is the academic punk band of the University of Tartu's Institute of Social Sciences, founded in September 2024 by journalism students. At the start of this summer, following the release of their debut album KARJU LAURISTIN, the band will disband – because enough is enough.
● kes. is a mystical band born on Kriidi Street, made up of six unique and colourful members whose shared goal is to preserve, in every song they create, that original spark in the eyes – the one that first appeared in childhood while listening to music. A band that recognises no genre boundaries and where excitement and laughter always fill the rehearsal room, kes. takes the listener on a journey where every song has its own distinctive sound and soul, offering constant surprise and emotional experience. After a year-long creative journey, the band released their debut EP at the end of 2024, available on all major streaming platforms.
● Tuvipoeg is, to the best of anyone's knowledge, the world's first fruit-punk ensemble. Having operated primarily as a band among friends, they spent years contributing to highly irregular and semi-Latin-language anti-music newsletters. But now, after 15 years of hatching and dawdling, they have released their debut album Kõvad munad (Hard Eggs).

On Friday we turn into a club and welcome @dancepunkd and @speckman_____ .
Speckman is a DJ & Producer hailing from Hamburg. He is the co-founder of the tastemaking party series Dreamteam and resident at the legendary Golden Pudel Club.
Dancepunk’d is an event series focused on the sounds of 2000s, big beat, post-punk, indie dance, bloghouse, electroclash and leftfield electronic music in general.
On Saturday, instead of our initially planned vinyl night, @nikki__nair and @paavli.club will take over MOD for a sweaty dancefloor session.
Supported by local stars celestica, White Gloss ja Bubblecum (Ines Daferrari, iunsu, sorr).
Nikki Nair has risen to become one of the most exciting voices in dance music, releasing a string of bass-heavy, breakbeat-driven techno tracks since 2018. His music defies expectations and is constantly surprising.
