Today we proudly honor the rich cultural heritage and enduring artistic traditions of Indigenous cultures throughout the world. In collaboration with the Museum of International Folk Art and the Museum of Indian Arts + Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico, we designed three collections of soft surface flooring inspired by museum textiles and objects that feature indigenous cultural and craft traditions.
CRAFTED CONVERGENCE: This graphic soft surface portfolio draws inspiration from the patterns described on Native American pottery, basketry and Japanese and African garments. The collection artfully translates these design motifs into bold patterns that celebrate the use of negative and positive space echoing the handmade originals from cultures continents apart.
CELEBRATED HERITAGE: A richly textured commercial carpet portfolio that skillfully captures the vibrant and modern patterning on Native American pottery. Every thread of this collection echoes the handmade quality of the original.
SPIRIT MODERNE: this stunning collection translates various culture’s textile traditions into surfaces rich in pattern, texture, and color that are perfect for contemporary hospitality interiors. Powered by Durkan Definity, Synthesis, and Pattern Perfect technology, this collection reinterprets the designs and tactile qualities of several ethnographic textiles achieved through dying, embroidery, and weaving traditions. We love seeing photos of our fabulous Wonderlust collaboration with Mayer Fabrics.
To have wonder is different that to simply wander— the former implies intent, to look for beauty as opposed to the latter: wandering where you might stumble upon beauty.
Kimberle Frost, the designer of this collection, knows where to look for beauty and found it in the textile collection at the Museum of International Folk Art.
We are proud of this collection and encourage you take the time to explore it.
Bravo and thank you Mayer.

So proud of our Common Threads collection developed by Jan Kath. This beautiful hand knotted carpet was inspired by an 18th c darning sampler in the collections of the Museum of International Folk Art. #traditionsmademodern #folkartmuseumsantafe #santafe #textileart #licensing
