Recording a Fairport Convention song with a man who was once in Fairport Convention was not something I would have imagined as ever happening in 1986. David Immergluck (@alchemikalartz ), @wilmuse and @mmjerome and I have made a lot of good music together in the last few years with @thethirdmind . In the last few months I’ve gathered with them to re-record some material of mine from 2006 and this week we recorded 14 songs with Iain Matthews @iamthatswine . These collaborations are everything I ever hoped making music could be. Sonic excursions made by great musicians who bring soul, fire, grit and gratitude to the table. We have some good things brewing here… props to @adamlasus for his engineering, chips and dried mango.

“I wondered if I could assemble an abstract film, where ‘Once Upon A Time’-era Claudia Cardinale suddenly enters as the muse and takes us off on a journey back through time in California. Dave Alvin and I are both Southern California natives who’ve seen a lot of change in our home state, so I tried to play with both the nostalgia of youth, that particular sexual longing that goes with youth, and also an existential flight back through time into the last 100 years or so of California; another kind of nostalgia. Hopefully we do our job as musicians, and we take you off on a trip through time, emotion, place and space.” — @krummenacher on creating and directing the video for “Claudia Cardinale”, from the debut album The Third Mind.
