This past Sunday, the SOC community gathered at Canon Burbank for SOC Presents Operator to Operator—and it was one to remember! Camera operators @MitchDubin , SOC⁣ and Colin Anderson, SOC⁣ brought together powerful stories, hard-earned wisdom, and candid perspectives from their careers behind the camera.⁣ ⁣ The energy carried into our Member Mix-Up, where members and guests mingled, caught up and connected over light refreshments.⁣ 🤝⁣ ⁣ A huge thank you to @CanonUSA and everyone who showed up, engaged, and made this event such a success. Join us in congratulating our awesome SOC Coordinator, and now college grad, Madison Matuszewski! 👩‍🎓🎥🎉👏⁣ ⁣ @mm.behindthecamera : I am very excited to share that I have officially graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with my BFA in Film Production!⁣ ⁣ These past 4 years have been life changing and I am so grateful for finding my true passion on set, behind the camera and some of my best friends along the way.⁣ ⁣ Of course, a huge part of my journey has been my time spent with the SOC. I started out as an intern in the Fall of 2022 and I am proud to have been working with them since as a coordinator. The spirit and devotion to education from the SOC Team and its members is unmatched. 𝘐𝘯𝘬𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭 ✒️⚫️⁣ ⁣ A story about an animator in the 1920’s who takes a dark turn in order to become successful⁣. One of my two capstone projects I served as Director of Photography for at RIT. ⁣ Director: Mario Brown @_mariolbrown_ Director of Photography: ✋🏼 Editor: Thomas Rizzi @thomas.rizzi Sound Designer: Elaina Couse @original.i.swear Colorist: Jonathan Leung @j20_leung It was a really fun challenge to bring the aesthetics of old film to life digitally for this project. Early German Expressionist films were a big inspiration for us when building the visual framework, the team did a great job of bringing this through in color and production design while still giving the film its own unique voice.
