That’s a wrap on Salt & Honey, so also a wrap on our time in Helper & Price! Living out in a desert town with my friends for weeks without sleep, staying on the hunt for good food, and trying not to melt from the sun was a blast.
Everyday was a new experience and I’ve learned so much from the past month: best ways to live out of a suitcase, that it’s okay to have constant caffeine if you’re constantly busy, there’s more chances to pause and breath than you think, always double check when restaurants close before you rush there after work, and take even more photos.
(also learned a lot about lights!)
I’m beyond thankful to have worked on this movie, and beyond thankful for the people I’ve gotten to spend the time with.

Out looking at rocks, clay, and plants
Work has been busy lately so I was grateful to get away to the desert for a night. Sometimes the weeks pass by and all the days disappears in to a blur, or at least that’s how its felt for me. I’ve been taking more photos so that I can look back on what I’ve done, and I like seeing what you’ve done too.
Saw museums, forests, too many Dunkin Donuts to count, and I still wish we had more time out east. Bounced around cities in Massachusetts & New Hampshire seeing old friends and finding out about what they love in their new homes. Can’t wait to go back out again sometime soon
These are only some of my favorite parts from the museums but the James Turrell light exhibit (slide 7), seeing more of my favorite painter Monet’a paintings (slide 6), and the sculpture by Louise Bourgeois (slide 9)
Last year I read a book called “The Overstory” that taught me to think differently of nature, but especially trees. Growing up I couldn’t see how intertwined all the aspects of our world was and I especially didn’t have the patience to think of the time it takes to grow a tree. The generations that pass by as a tree grows and spreads its roots, similar to communities.
After reading “The Overstory” I couldn’t stop thinking about trees. Large sections of the book were dedicated to the Redwoods and I dreamed of seeing a place so out of this world. It felt so far away. Now, I’ve driven out on my own and got to walk along the giants. Something I’ll never forget. It was peaceful walking along in the early morning and stopping to take these photos. I’m excited for when I can go back.
Our new short film In the Frame is out now! (You can check it out at the link in my bio) This film was made to try to capture our love for SLC and to show the two different perspectives of leaving your home. Making this film in two weeks was a challenge but it’s made us more excited to film another project soon (thank ya @saltlakefilmclub for starting that challenge!). We couldn’t have done it without our amazing cast & crew who jumped at the opportunity to shoot something fast, even if it meant being out in the rain. Thank you so much, and we hope you like In the Frame.

Had an incredible time at the Reframe event last night hosted by @43studiosslc and @saltlakefilmclub . Infinite thank you’s to the absolutely incredible cast and crew that came together and volunteered their talent and soul to make this film happen in only TWO WEEKS! We will never stop making films and this was a great experiment under great pressure.
Excited to release the film publicly soon!
