@seara_program did a report on equity, anti racism in the arts. It was pretty illuminating but also frustrating to read thru it and see we’re all out here feeling this pressure, to do it all be it all present it show it share it perform it. ##i made some comic strips about it and put it in this broadsheet. To end on a positive note…. It’s getting better, I hope we can all look back at this later and laugh once we’ve completed all our gay bipoc agendas

Black Stone is done :3 what a special book. I’ve really worked on nothing like it. Written by Darcy Whitecrow and @cailjudy and translated into Anishinaabemowin by Pamela Johnson. It feels really special to put this out into the world and be able to read something so special and in the language.
I wish I could share more pages, I’m so proud of this book and I can’t wait to see it live its own life in many hands. This books for all ages and I hope it can reach many hearts.

While Inkwo For When The Starving Return did not get short listed for the Oscars it brought forth humility and gratitude of getting this far. It was an honour to be on the qualifying list. It’s a bigger reminder of why we do this work and tell stories. For community. That’s what really matters.
This film’s medicine and path runs so deep in what it has brought forward and the greatest gift was being invited into this space and to be trusted to honour the words of Richard Van Camp.
This process and project brought together some of the most humble and brilliant minds to problem solve dreams and cinematic art.
I have met so many amazing new friends from this journey and am so grateful for all the support through all stages of this production and while it makes its way into the world. Congrats to those whose films proceed.
