Carrying the flag for Team Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was a moment that will forever be etched in my heart 🇹🇩 With the Paris 2024 Olympics approaching, I find myself reflecting on that once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s one of those moments that truly drives home the WHY behind it all. Playing for something bigger than yourself. Representing not just your immediate team and the incredible Canadian athletes competing, but the greater Team Canada—all the people watching and cheering you on back home. In the midst of the pandemic, with so much uncertainty, the Olympics became a beacon of unity and togetherness. Bearing the flag alongside an incredible athlete and human like Nate Hirayama (@nhirayama10 ) made it even more special. Now, in my retirement era, that sense of “playing for something bigger than yourself”—building a community, encouraging, and uplifting—is central to what I do as an entrepreneur and motivational speaker. Through my work with Cultivate Co. (@cultivateco.ca ) and the Peaceful Performer brand, I’m passionate about helping female leaders and entrepreneurs achieve their goals with more purpose and peace. What an incredible honour that will never be forgotten. I’m blessed. And as my mom always says: “You’re blessed to be a blessing.” Pass it along. 💚🌿 —— Slide 1: 📾 @jomoriah.photos Slide 2: Walking into the stadium with the flag (Source: CBC Sports) Slide 3: Solo moment with the flag Slide 4: @marniemc2 grabbed this awesome BTS shot Slide 5: @marktewks talking about the value of TEAM at London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 (Source: CBC News) Slide 6: Pre-Opening Ceremony in the Olympic Village Slide 7: 📾 @jomoriah.photos

Day 100 snuck up real fast (and real slow)! I didn’t get to share much from Day 60-100 because, alas, I must work a living and posting on IG isn’t top priority. More to share in the future! Yet isn’t that just like all our goals and habits
the bulk of the work is done in the dark. Im excited for what’s next
Appreciate you coming along for the journey so far! đŸ©”

💭 On “warming up” in everyday life
Spoiler: this isn’t about *physical* exercise I’m a human. A messy, imperfect, inconsistent human—despite my best intentions. And as such, I appreciate REALISTIC mindsets & systems that acknowledge the difficulties of consistently showing up, instead of punishing me for being a fallible human. Similar to how my body needs a little time to warm up before physical exercise, my mind (and I’m guessing yours too) needs a little time to warm up before MENTAL exercise—aka doing something hard. Going from zero to 100% focus is unrealistic. Why not accept that reality when starting things? Why not build a “warm up” block into our calendar before we start work or a “switch shift” when we start something, so that we’re not constantly falling short of our 100%-laser-focus-from-jump expectations (which just builds frustration, shame, and eventually, burnout)? Anyways, just a thought, from a human who tends to ‘pull a muscle’ when she doesn’t warm up properly.

Time capsule footage from before I started this challenge. If you were curious about the WHY behind this 100-Day Run Streak (beyond just staying fit and sane through the deep darkness of winter). I already feel like a different person halfway through. Highly recommend. I double dog dare ya.
