There is a quiet joy that comes with the return of market season. As we prepare for the Delridge Farmers Market season opener, our kitchen is filled with the rich, earthy aromas of one of our first creations: the empanada!
We’ve spent the winter focusing on the heart of Team Mixt: building a more efficient foundation so that when the sun comes out and brings us new life, we can focus entirely on the craft and the community. This empanada balances flavors of pork humba and mole manchamanteles. It’s comforting, complexly savory, and made with the kind of care that will make everything feel just a bit more right in the world.

Celebrate the New Year with us around the kamayan table: an abundant 10-course Filipino feast where every dish tells its own story. Experience an evening of warmth, laughter, and inventive bites created by Mixt Cafe and Daniel Acierto, each inspired by the richness of grains and seeds. Thoughtfully curated drinks by Hood Famous are available to complete your feast (separate).
Gather with friends and family on December 29th: choose dinner at 4PM or 7PM at Hood Famous Cafe and Bakeshop. Tickets are $140 per person. This intimate night promises unforgettable flavors and true connection (reserve your seat soon, as space is limited!)

Next up on the @seattlerestaurantweek pop-up lineup... Mixt Cafe is offering panadero boxes inspired by owner Kasey Acob's mixed Filipino, German, and Mexican cultural background.
The $35 boxes, featuring an assortment of baked goods (swipe for full menu!), will be available for pickup at:
* Mixed Pantry @mixed.pantry Belltown on 10/27 and 11/9
* Archipelago @archipelago_pnw in Hillman City on 11/3.
$2 of every panadero box will be donated to Good Food Kitchens through the Give a Meal campaign.

Eastern Washington peaches took a big hit because of an intense freeze this year, and for many farmers their peaches crops were drastically cut down. So to honor the limited peach harvest this year I’m bringing something special to @delridgefarmersmarket tomorrow—a PEACHES’n CREAM CONCHA with green szechuan pepper and coconut cream!! Thank you to @lyallfarms & @magana_farms_dehydrated_fruit for the delicious 🍑 and to @fairhavenmill for producing the lovely 🌾 that makes this concha so tasty!
I’ll also be bringing some pinakbet bread as well as the cassava brownie cake!

In tandem with this celebration we will also be holding space to grieve the loss of the many Palestinian lives of men, children and women in Gaza. We will be joining @carlosmartinezart@vintage_attitude@hoyvani@sorrysorryseattle@selvacentralgoods and Brown Chibi in donating 25-30% of our proceeds to @mecaforpeace in support of prospering life for families in Gaza who’ve been forced out of their homes and seeking safe refuge.
