On the occasion of the 40-year retrospective of @inezandvinoodh , "Can Love Be A Photograph", at @kunstmuseum.nl in The Hague, I had the pleasure of interviewing the duo on their longstanding collaboration for @systemmagazine .
The show is not presented chronologically but thematically, and it really makes you realize how ahead of their time they were – and still are. Some of the works feel more anchored in the present than ever.
The photographs bring together so many figures, from Madonna, Prince to Rihanna and Lady Gaga, alongside major fashion houses such as Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Seeing all of this in one space confirms one thing: love can truly be a photograph.
