A Day for New Beginnings
After 10 years of growing @mitimeth.ng on Instagram, our page was unexpectedly disabled in August 2025. Painful? Yes 😩.
They took down our page, but not our purpose. We were struck down but not destroyed. Our products continue to speak and our stories continue to live on with new clarity and focus.
Welcome to @mitimeth.home and @mitimeth.rugs . Here, we share our world of handcrafted décor and gifts: lamps, rugs, planters, baskets, wall textiles, accents all made from water hyacinth and other bio-based materials.
Same mission. Same story. New home.
Please like, follow and share to help us rebuild this journey.

From overlooked to intentional.
Water hyacinth, coconut shell and papier-mâché come together in sculptural forms that speak of resilience, protection and renewal.
Quietly made. Deeply felt.

Stool to Stage
Originally designed as rustic accent seating, our woven Water Hyacinth stools recently found themselves playing a different role at an exhibition showcase. Quietly elevating a statement bag from the “Could It Be Love” collection.
That’s the beauty of thoughtful craft. A piece designed for function can effortlessly drift into display, styling, storytelling and space-making. This is furniture with range and presence.
Handwoven from invasive water hyacinth fiber and paired with rattan detailing, these stools carry texture, warmth and that grounded earthy character we love creating at MitiMeth.
Not just seating.
Not just display.
A woven pedestal for beautiful things. #wovenfurniture #rusticdecor #design #handwoven #madeinnigeria
Design is at its best when it doesn’t compete with nature but collaborates with it. For this installation, our Genome 🧬 window coverings designed from handwoven water hyacinth fibres were paired up with an exterior landscape that was already speaking in textures, layers and living forms. The result? A seamless dialogue between inside and outside where light filters through strands that echo the DNA of nature itself.
Thank YOU @whytecleon Limited for embracing circular design in such a refined and grounded way.

Nature has ALWAYS known how to build beautifully. Like the bee’s honeycomb, structure in nature is never accidental. It is functional, intentional, precise and elegant.
Inspired by this intelligence, we created our woven hexagon concepts as part of the MitiMeth Biophilic Surface System transforming reclaimed water hyacinth into modular surfaces for modern walls.
From nature’s logic to human spaces, MitiMeth brings you texture, warmth and purpose.

Happy Earth Day 🌍
From Water Hyacinth to Handmade Rugs
Earth Day is a reminder to rethink how we use what’s around us and to actively support environmental protection.
At MitiMeth, from a raw water hyacinth often considered an invasive plant and environmental pollutant, to a finished rug, every step is done by hand by our artisans, transforming excess waste into something useful and long-lasting.
By transforming water hyacinth, we help reduce environmental waste and promote sustainable living.
This is how we demonstrate our support for environmental protection, crafting products that are both functional and mindful of the environment.

“If art reflects life, it does so with special mirrors.” - Bertolt Brecht
What if reflections could tell deeper stories?
That’s exactly what the ‘Harmony’ mirror collection is doing. These water hyacinth cowrie mirrors reinterpret material, craft and culture, transforming an environmental challenge into collectible design. Texture meets heritage. Sustainability meets new luxury.
Designed to anchor spaces, start conversations and reflect more than what meets the eye.
