Thanks everyone who came out this Saturday to celebrate our EP release! We had a blast playing our songs and watching @sadie.alan and @cupcup_theband kill it up on stage. It’s so wonderful to be surrounded by such a loving community of musicians, artists, and music-lovers 🥹 Huge shoutout to the @4startheater for hosting us, everyone who works there is an absolute gem 💎
Sadly, this is our last show with @ledapperduck on guitar, but though this video you can relive him shredding one more time. Thanks @sadie.alan for taking it! 🎥 We’re taking a little break from shows as wedding season revs up, but we’ll be back Saturday August 23rd at the Makeout Room - save the date!
What a year of music! We had our last practice of the year on Tuesday, so I compiled some of my favorite clips from our shows to look back on 2024. Eternal thanks to the bandmates who make this project as good as it is, @uniquesnowflake8@mikeeeeeeee4ee@ledapperduck and @g_mcconohy ! And of course to our frequently featured guest (and love of my life) @huhjehbuh !
Swipe to the end to get the deets for our first show of 2025 (and only show so far). We’ll be returning to the beloved @theknockoutsf with @little_oil_music and @orbit17music on Saturday January 11th to celebrate the release of our new single Venture Cowboys!
Slide 2: Like The River at Baltic Kiss - show with Tektonic and mid-course correction, video by Ben Cashman
Slide 3: Group pic at Winters Tavern with Loser Soup and Dark Satellite
Slide 4: Sleep at Winters Tavern with @yepitscj skanking in front 🎷
Slide 5: The Ivy Room - show with Indigo Elephant and Muwa (some of whom are dancing in the shot! 😊)
Slide 6: “the silly one” band pic at practice, unfortunately sans Oscar but otherwise perfect
Slide 7: part of the jam section on Venture Cowboys in slo-mo- you can hear this exact recording all nicely mixed on our Bandcamp!
Slide 8: Band pic with Helen at one of the practices for our Halloween 90s mixtape set at El Rio
Slide 9: covering Torn in the style of the original by Ednaswap - that’s right, the Natalie Imbruglia version is a cover!
Slide 10: probably needs no introduction, but @huhjehbuh crushing it on Alanis Morisette’s You Oughta Know
Slide 11: Our only release this year was Dirty and Wrong (F*ck You Jeff Bezos) which at this point might as well be titled F*ck You Donald Trump. Glad to have it out in the world, as a joyous rebuttal to some of the terrible stuff that’s happening.
Slide 12: You made it! Thanks for reading all this. Our first show of 2025 will be a release party for Venture Cowboys at the Knockout, with our friends Little Oil and Orbit 17. It’s Saturday January 11th, 5-8:30 (early show) and we hope to see you there! Until then, happy holidays!
Practicing a new one for the big bandshell show tomorrow - hope to see you there! This is the saddest slowest song we’re gonna play but it was the best video we got so here ya go 🙂
Please give a warm welcome to the newest members of the band, @sarah.m.parker on violin 🎻 and @tuckerowen on lead guitar! 🎸 Both of them bring incredible energy and chops to the band and we’re so glad to have them playing with us. They’ll be taking the stage with us for the second time ever exactly two weeks from today at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell for the third annual @retrofuturerevue featuring @lazerbeamband@miss_hits and @dinnerdateband . We’ve got new songs and arrangements for you that you won’t wanna miss. See you soon!
Maybe I’m just old school but there’s something about physical posters that digital formats can’t touch

Spring has sprung, the clocks have turned forward, and the future of the past is fast approaching. It is time for the RETRO-FUTURE REVUE 2026!
On the stage where iconic musicians like Jerry Garcia, Santana, and Jefferson Airplane entertained hundreds of thousands of San Franciscans in years past, something new is bubbling up. This free concert will take place Saturday May 16th, 2-6pm and will feature 4 Bay Area bands that exemplify the diversity of San Francisco’s vibrant music scene.
The third year of the Retro-Future Revue will be the biggest yet, with heavy hitters Lazer Beam, Miss Hits, Mitch Rocket, and Dinner Date gracing the stage at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell. The music will range from delicate indie pop to heavy desert rock, from jazzy complexity to sleek simplicity. All the decades of San Francisco’s musical past will be in attendance. Will you?
Food trucks will be on site to provide lunch. Bring drinks, snacks, kids, parents, dogs, and the whole family! And should you desire, come dressed as a shiny chrome vision of a future that could have been. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
Retrofuturism: “a movement in the creative arts that visualizes the future through the lens of a past era’s technological and cultural understanding. It represents the “remembering of anticipation”—how previous generations envisioned what was to come. This aesthetic is characterized by blending old-fashioned or “retro” styles with futuristic technology.”
New venue and support in for SanFrancisco now at @bazaarcafesf Sunday April 19 for an early show at 2pm with my old school brother who once lived here in Florida @scotthawkinsmusic , @mitchrocket and California tour mate @bradleyalanmusic thanks to @bananaslugbooking ! Going to be stellar. Come say hi.
Looking forward to a couple of days in the Bay Area…
Grateful.
It is HOT outside this week! Cool down with us Friday night at the East Bay’s finest brand new DIY venue the @planetariumrichmond . This will be the first show with our newest compatriots @tuckerowen on guitar and @sarah.m.parker on violin and I couldn’t be more excited!
We’ll be sharing the stage with some great bands from all over California: @123curryofficial , @ddoublewish , @theparadegarden , and @furnacewoodsca . Thanks @ragtagshows for putting it all together!
San Franciscans, save the date for our return to the @retrofuturerevue Saturday May 16th, 2-6pm. The song you’re hearing right now was recorded at the inaugural Retro Future Revue, and you’re definitely going to want to hear the new stuff we’re cooking up for you!
Happy birthday to my favorite person in the whole world, Helen ❤️❤️ I’ve loved you for seven years now, we’ve been married for just over a year and half, and we’re still just getting started. Your smile lights up every room that you’re in, and your laugh lights up the heart of everyone that hears it. I’m so lucky to have you in my life, and I hope all the celebrations this week are everything you hope and more. Looking forward to many more birthdays with you 🥰🥰🥰
Happy Helen day to all who celebrate! 🎉

Happy birthday to our fantastic bass player @__milky__mike__ ! Mike’s been in the band for about 4 years now and brings the tasty low end grooves every time, not to mention making practices much more fun with his plethora of bits. He also crushes it with his other project @pvjr_band , who played a deliciously raucous Macarena-inducing set last night at El Rio (slides 3 and 4). They released their first album BONJOUR late last year and today just happens to be Bandcamp Friday, so it’s a great day to pick up a copy (link in bio).
Speaking of Bandcamp Friday, I contributed a cover of “That’s Not Me” from Pet Sounds to volume 3 of the Beach Boys Club compilation, out today and dedicated to the memory of Brian Wilson. All proceeds from the compilation go to the Oakland Immigrant Family Defense Fund, so it’s an excellent way to support a good cause and hear some fresh takes on Beach Boys classics.
Our next show is in 2 weeks at the @planetariumrichmond - hope to see you there!
