In 1949, Alex Mitchell started “Payntfast”, a small family business in Flinders Street, Melbourne. Peter Mitchell joined his father in 1954 and in 1957 Alex and Peter worked together to develop a cut-to-size Laminex operation.
Fast forward to 2024 and you will find Peter’s children Brett, Marcus and Shane Mitchell continuing to work in the business. Materials and technologies may have changed over the last 75 years, but Mitchell’s values and vision remain the same:

Last month we hosted a special lunch to celebrate 75 years in business.
The outdoor lunch was attended by the Mitchell team as well as key suppliers who have worked alongside us to create our successful, long-lasting, people centric, and Australian owned business.
There were two presentations to Mitchells by @laminexau and Mayor Jenna Davey-Burns and Councilman George Hua from the @kingstoncouncil
Over the last 75 years, we have employed hundreds of people, and we are very grateful for their contribution to the growth and history of the business.
