Becoming unstoppable @mitchell.durham ❤️‍🔥 Here are some behind the scenes footage of the movement/ mobility sessions Mitch has been doing with @camwatkins_87 in 2026! Mitch just took out Double gold at the Australian Open 🇦🇺🥇 And is now preparing for a huge second half of the year including the National Championships, Oceania Team Championships and World Cup. He is such a joy to work with and we will continue to do what we can, to keep challenging him and help him to thrive in doing what he loves!!

There are only a few moments in life where you truly feel the weight of something so grand and powerful that words can’t begin to describe. However, I will try my best to articulate and share what I experienced last week. The idea of being at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli for the dawn service on the 25th of April was something I knew was going to be patriotic, somber and moving. It wasn’t until the sun shed its first light over those mountain ranges, for that weight to fully sink in. Revealing the hundreds of people gathering in a silence that was louder than the sound of those spine tingling bagpipes. It wasn’t just the sound, it was the stillness of the shore, the crisp cold air while the three flags were risen, yet lying flat and motionless, and just the simple realisation that everyone was standing on the same ground where all of our ancestors fought and had their lives taken too early. One part that moved me the most was when the words of Mustafa Atatürk, founding father of the Republic of Turkiye, were read. Calling for peace and reassurance that we are all one. Seeking reconciliation and repair of the relationship between Turkey, and Australia and New Zealand. That, in spite of a senseless war with thousands of lives sacrificed, our countries may be friends and united moving forward. It really gives me faith in humanity and our ability to come together after facing any adversity. Which brings me to feeling a sense of pride. The bravery and courage these young men had to show in the midst of a forced unknown is something that makes me stand a little taller. And of course, while sad, this day allows us to celebrate the values and identity of what it means to be Australian and part of the ANZACs. We are strong, willing, and resilient. We care deeply, and have a unique ability to band together as one under trying times. At the end of the day, these are just words. To truly honour what happened 111 years ago, we as a people need to walk through this life which has been gifted to us by those ancestors before us, and embody the values that are so closely connected to our culture.

I love working with Mitch. Because Mitch is a prime example that athleticism and performance do not come from fancy periodisation or the highly specific exercises you constantly see pushed on social media. High performance comes from doing the simple things at a high level, for a long time. Lift heavy. Lift fast. Eat well.

Do the foundations with absolute intent. Not fad diets.
Not over the top recovery protocols.
Not chasing novelty just to feel like the session was “elite”.

There is no magic here, just standards.

Repeated week in, week out. Mitch is 2 weeks out from the Karate One Premier League in Rome. Let’s keep building.

A delightful conversation on the Inner Paths Podcast between me and @mitchell.durham — karate athlete, Aussie team captain, co-founder of @kaizenculture__ and long-time teammate and friend. We reflect on what happens when you pause to ask, who am I beyond the “athlete me”? It was an honest and deep chat about the foundations of training and sport, confidence and humility in performance, what we have received from karate training and competition and how we use this to contribute to the world, and the long inner game beyond competition and sport. Let us know what you think! https://youtu.be/y_8zG3XLcLQ?si=2RhJAAoB1VGGcTmm Link also in bio 😁
