Cooking is a beautiful creative practice, one that touches all our senses and has the power to bring people together. This Sunday at @noordspace we are excited to collaborate with @monobloc.cuisine to create the menu of our listening session. Monobloc is a food collective rooted in creativity, community and care. The collective’s name refers to the white plastic chair we all sat on at least once to share a meal. Simple, accessible and catered for coming together. The collective will present a Vietnamese inspired menu, fresh and full of flavours: • Pulled Beef or Vegan Oyster Mushroom Bánh Mì sandwich, loaded with pickled veg, fresh herbs & bold flavors. • Miso Chocolate Chip Cookie, a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and chewy goodness. Joining us this Sunday at @noordspace from Rotterdam is Dutch/Antillean DJ @faustin_______ Lifting and moving dance floors with sets where deep, percussive and futuristic sounds resonate, the @club.raum resident has also been cultivating a different side of his artistry where he expresses more inward feelings. His sensitivity and connection to nature’s sounds and silences offer an additional layer to his craft, and opens different sonic perspectives that we will explore together. It is a very special artist who will join us this Sunday at Noord Space for our listening session. Having recently moved from Brooklyn to Rotterdam, DJ and producer @clarisa_kimskii is one of techno’s most consistent and exciting artists. With a career spanning over 20 years and regular performances at clubs such as Berghain and New York’s BASEMENT, her sound and musical perspective deeply resonate. This Sunday, she will present a different side of her artistry. For many years, she has been exploring soundscapes through her practice, opening up to different frequencies, textures, and energies. Her recent Zero BPM performance was a highlight, and it is a true honour to invite her to perform for two hours on In:resonance and Sol System’s hybrid sound installation. For this session at Noord Space, In:resonance brings its omnidirectional speakers, joined by subs from @solsystems , creating a setup that is both immersive and physical. With @in.resonance_ , @andreas.tegnander invites us into a way of listening that is shaped as much by space as by sound itself. The project grew out of his installation practice, where custom omnidirectional speaker sculptures became a way to let sound unfold more naturally through an environment rather than pushing it from one fixed direction. What emerges is not just clarity or volume, but a changing acoustic field where textures, low end, and resonance can fully open up. For our next gathering on Saturday March 29th, we’re very happy to welcome our dear friend Bastien ( @accuraat_crisp_sandwich ) for a new hybrid live performance at @noordspace . With Glotularities of the Inner Distorted Mind, Bastien builds a world shaped through field recordings, spoken word, and modular synthesis. What started as revisiting years of recorded material slowly turned into something more intentional, creating environments that hold and carry a story. “I thought: well, if I made a show that forced me to get or record specific field recordings, then maybe I would be forced to listen, to use them in my productions…It clicked in my brain that the radio show needed to adopt the format it has now… it’s very much all of these things somehow filtered through my stranger-than-normal brain.” Drawing from radio and storytelling formats such as Call Super’s Can you Feel the Sun, Jack Rollo’s Breakfast Show, CCL Invisible Cities, The Blindboy Podcast and his partner’s approach to storytelling came together as a sort of Big Bang during the watching of Derek Jarman’s BLUE leading to a performance that moves through fragments of the real, the surreal, and the personal. Field recordings drift from raw and intimate to abstract and processed, while his modular setup introduces a meditative, granular dimension where sounds stretch, dissolve, and reform in real time. On Sunday 29 March, we return to @noordspace for a new sound experience. @in.resonance_ and @solsystems come together to offer us an omni-directional sound paired by the red sub woofers powerful vibrations. The music program will open us to new dimensions. Incredible and complete artist, @clarisa_kimskii has been exploring sounds beyond the world’s best dance floors. After a highlight performance at Zero BPM, she will offer us intricate yet delicate textures turning the space into a cocoon. We have invited two of our favorite artists to join this session. Rotterdam’s @faustin_______ will present his collection of mellow electronic sounds and @accuraat_crisp_sandwich will present a modular live set created for this moment. 🫧Thank you so much to everyone that showed up to listen and join the conversations! We were all electric after the whole ordeal! It was so beautiful to be in a space with so many attentive listeners. A space where we could interchange sound and music with conversations about composition, frameworks, technique and ideas seamlessly! For our gathering on Sunday September 7th, we’ll display a series of live sets accompanied by DJ sets before and after, sharing ambient music in all its shapes and forms. Doors open at 16:00 and the event will go on until 22/23:00, and we’ll make sure there’s freshly made food to keep everyone going throughout the day and evening. @albertvanabbe will present a series of strange sounds and textures to open your mind. @elisa_batti_ will share a live set drawing from her recent work with Wabi Sabi, where improvised sessions evolved into ambient soundscapes full of subtle energy and shifting moods. @andreas.tegnander will test the abilities of his system, shaping resonance in unexpected ways. Exploring how sound shapes experiences is at the core of our research and practice. Speaker design is a work of art. Every detail of shape and material have an impact on how waves travel from their sources to our ears. We are thus super excited to set the stage for performance and live set series @in.resonance_ to present its custom-made sculptural omnidirectional speaker system in our beautiful @noordspace greenhouse. Originally developed as part of a site-specific sound installation investigating embodiment and sonic landscapes, the system is designed to recreate the way sound exists in the real world, the speakers radiate equally in all directions, reflecting and dispersing like any object placed within space. Each unit is built with high-fidelity drivers chosen for their naturalistic frequency response, particularly in the high register, ensuring that spatial textures and resonances retain a sense of realism and depth. This approach allows the speakers to generate immersive, natural-sounding acoustic fields, expanding beyond the directional limitations of conventional loudspeaker design. While initially conceived for a single installation, the omnidirectional system has since evolved into a core element of In Resonance. Here, the speakers function not only as technical tools but as instruments and sculptural objects, opening new ways of sharing sound across disciplines. Last week we hosted our second edition of dessert, and it was an absolute pleasure to explore sound and space in such an intimate setting together with you all. This time the @solsystems stack was positioned in the back, facing the booth, removing the need to move closer to the front and opening up the dancefloor for more space to explore the stereo spectrum. Although it was perfect for the crowd and allowed the artist to hear and feel the music coming from the sounsystem, it would require more precise listening and mixing skills due to the delay in the sound coming from a distance. A challenge taken on with curiosity and care by @elmaragkou and @veritymjackson , resulting in some beautiful musical explorations and sick blends drawing people in. This was also the first time we got to use the newly designed kickbins by Sol Systems in a dance setting, which added such a clear and powerful punch to the double-bass subs. We would like to thank everyone for pulling up to this close gathering, the @noordspace crew for facilitating the environment and Sol Systems for placing and tuning the sound with so much care.
