✨ Nothing to Declare ✨ Erline is a Tokyo-based multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, paintings, and installation. Her practice centers on hand-built ceramic bags and other whimsical yet weighty objects that merge craft with cultural critique. Drawing from the languages of fashion, consumer culture, and everyday ritual, she explores femininity as both performance and survival strategy. Erline’s works often blur the line between ornament and burden, playfulness and pressure asking what we choose to carry, and how it shapes our presence in the world. Inspired by the current fascination with girls and their trinkets, she examines how small charms, chains, and accessories operate as both intimate self-expression and collective ritual. —————— GALLERY 05/05/2026 20/06/2026 Installation views by David Bonet #contemporanyart #ceramic #artexhibition

Things. Such a small word for everything we carry. Pearls and chains, softness and weight, the quiet cost of wanting, the strength of appearing fine. Maybe being a girl means learning to live among our things. Charms, trinkets, small comforts that soothe the hollow places. They shine, they comfort, they weigh us down. This longing tenderness that’s quite exhausting at times, but maybe it’s what keeps us feeling alive. (and broke, but alive.) 💸✨ ✨ Now exhibiting in ‘Things’, a pop up group show in Sydney, Australia 🌙 @postmodartclub On view until October 19th at @maidocoffee

オープニングに来てくださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました🥹💕 展示は8月3日まで、Midoriso Ikejiriで開催中です✨ Thank you so much to everyone who came by the opening 🥹💕 the show runs at Midoriso Ikejiri until August 3rd ✨ I sculpt cute things that feel heavy. Because girlhood is full of rules no one explains. I grew up loving magical girls. Their sparkles, their kindness, their strength that’s wrapped in goodness. Maybe that’s what being a girl still feels like: stay soft, stay strong, stay small but visible. A performance, a ritual, a burden dressed in pink and laces. I made these bags to hold those contradictions. Sweetness, pressure, and the need to hold it all together. Maybe i’m just romanticizing it all.

もうすぐグループ展で作品展示します🧚🏻💕 I will be a part of a group show 🫶🏻 Thank you Kai for including me 🥰🤗🥹 @karellamara @midoris0 ___________ In Co-Curation with MELLOW TALK,「Ambiguously In Between」は、HOME/WORK VILLAGEおよび MIDORI.so Ikejiriギャラリーの正式オープンを記念する展覧会となります。 In Co-Curation with MELLOW TALK, “Ambiguously In Between” will mark the official opening of MIDORI.so Ikejiri Gallery in HOME/WORK VILLAGE. The exhibit gathers works that gently sway between craft and art, function and expression, object and ornament. Once a vocational junior high school for craft-making, HOMEWORK/Village is now a collaborative space where creativity and community thrive. Like the works it hosts, the site embraces openness—a setting for experimentation, transformation, and discovery. The exhibition reflects this spirit: playful and reflective, much like the junior high years at their best—a time of curiosity, risk-taking, and growth. Through traditional and experimental practices, the works invite us to rethink how we perceive and relate to the objects and spaces around us. Excited for my lil NYC debut 🍎💫 with @longstoryshort.nyc ✨ “In Bagged Desires, Erline examines the contemporary phenomenon of customized handbags—objects that function not just as fashion statements but as extensions of the self. Inspired by the Gen Z trend of embellishing bags with charms and trinkets, the sculptures on view reflect both the intimate nature of personal style and the broader cultural impulse toward visibility and recognition. Each bag—whether draped in charms or presented in its raw sculptural form—poses a question: Do we seek these accessories for their adorned beauty, or for the status they confer? Are they expressions of individual taste or symbols of collective desire? The works invite viewers to reconsider the nature of ownership, the allure of consumer trends, and the ways in which objects define and display identity. As visitors peer through the gallery’s window-front installation, they are prompted to reflect on the transactional nature of fashion. Does the bag showcase its owner, or does the owner showcase the bag? Bagged Desires offers an invitation to examine the deeper motivations behind our aesthetic choices—challenging the line between self-curation and public spectacle.” Thank you @willnyc for giving me the opportunity to display my creations 🥰
