Introducing Jackie “Miss Funk” Lopez: A first-generation Latina, proud Los Angeles native, educator, choreographer, cultural practitioner, and Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Versa-Style Street Dance Company.
A UCLA World Arts & Cultures graduate with a concentration in Dance, Jackie discovered Hip Hop/ Street Dance in the 90s and has dedicated 25+ years to serving Street Dance culture through performance, education, mentorship, and community engagement. Deeply rooted in Hip Hop/Street Dance history and dance communities, her work bridges the stage, academia, and cultural preservation.
Jackie has represented the U.S. internationally as a cultural ambassador and became the first woman of color to create a full-length Hip Hop/Street dance work for the Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv.
Her mission is clear: create pathways for the next generation. Because for Jackie, street dance didn’t just shape her life, it saved it✨

Went into the Latino Hive not knowing what to expect 🤓and left deeply inspired🤩
Being surrounded by so many Latino/Latina entrepreneurs was powerful. 😎My mantra for this experience became: RESET, REFLECT & RECEIVE 🫶🏽🙏🏽🎶
I’m so used to leading, speaking, and pouring into others, but this time, I chose to listen. To be present. To receive.
And that shift? It filled me in ways I didn’t even realize I needed.
Grateful for the reminder that growth also comes from stillness. 🤎
