The original Mushroom Girl MOC is one of my most cherished creations. While it doesn't fully stand up to the test of time, it was an immense step in my building journey; not only was it displayed in the Lego House, but it was the first in an ever-evolving lineup of characters in a style that feels like my own; a feeling I've wrestled with for a long time. Heck, it even inspired someone to draw her; which is, like, still one of the coolest things to happen in my time in the hobby. So shoutout to @elimy.art ; as a bit of a thank you I've chosen Emily as the character's name :)
So for Brickworld Chicago this year, I've done a full redesign of the character! The dress is a bit different this time around, but it still matches the original aesthetic well enough. Unfortunately, I forgot to include a couple of pieces during reconstruction before taking this photo, but I've been sitting on this edit since at least July and decided to just go ahead and post it regardless. Hoping to get a few more builds out this year! You'll be getting at least 7 👀

Built for Brickscalibur's "Tails from the Meadow" category and the next part in my "Miscellanagirls" series (if you can figure out a better name, please let me know :'D). Aiming to build one a month, each time trying a new challenge! With this one, I challenge myself to modify my style. In this case, it was building a shorter character than normal & building with a nose; only possible with the new curved slopes! Hoping to get some in some skin tones, as I'd like to move to that design in the future and include a nose on all my characters; something that wasn't quite possible with the old mold.
