2025 has been a special year for me, as I finally got Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.
I first visited the UK in 2007, and that was when I began to dream of living and working here as a dancer. It took 18 years for that dream to come true.
At first, it was just a dream. Then it slowly became a goal. And now, the UK is where I’m based and where I continue my journey as a dancer.
The journey wasn’t simple at all.
I came to the UK to study ballet, went back to Japan to work, returned to the UK again, and when my visa ended, I moved to Germany.
Three months after moving there, I got a job offer for the West End production of The King and I, which brought me back to the UK once more. That led to my Global Talent Visa, and now, I’m finally settled here.
Living and working in the UK as a dancer came with many challenges. There were countless rejections, moments of doubt, and times when I almost gave up. Without the support of my family, friends, and teachers, I wouldn’t be here today.
It took a long time, but I’m really glad I didn’t give up.
Even now, I feel that this is just the starting point.
I am excited to keep dancing, and discovering what comes next in my journey.

2025年、今年は私にとってイギリスの永住権が取れた特別な年となりました。
私が初めてイギリスを訪れて、ここで活動したいと思ったのが2007年なので、なんと18年越しに叶った夢でした。
当時はもちろん夢でしたが、バレリーナを目指し、プロのダンサーを目指し、夢が目標へと変わり、イギリスは憧れの国から私の活動拠点となりました。
とはいえ、イギリス留学から始まりましたがずっとイギリスにいることはできず。日本で活動したり、またイギリスに戻ったりしましたが、ビザが切れて一時はドイツに移住をしました。ドイツに移り住んだ三ヶ月後にウェストエンドのミュージカル「王様と私」の仕事が取れたことがきっかけで再びイギリスに戻り、念願だったGlobal Talent Visaが取得できて、現在に至ります。
たくさんの挫折があり、何度も挫けそうになったり、夢が見れなくなったときもありました。
でも、諦めなくて良かったと思います。
そして、遠回りをする私を応援し続けてくれた家族と友達、師匠たちにとても感謝しています。
こんなに時間をかけてここまで来ましたが、それでもまだ今がスタート地点だな、という気持ちです。
なので、ここからまた走り、舞い続けていきたいと思います。
