Nearly everyone in the trade at some point has said to themselves, “I wish I could ask a major quartet that question!”
Wish granted! At least, a chance to have your wish granted!

What a delightful afternoon it was when @miroquartet graced our stage here at @kahilutheatre . If you missed their incredible talent you can now watch (or rewatch!) their classical concert, only on Kahilu.TV 🤙🏻📺
ICYMI - Cellist Joshua Gindele, one of the founding members, spoke to Evening Concert host Craig DeSilva about how the quartet has evolved over the past three decades. From its beginnings as students at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music to being the quartet-in-residence at Butler School of Music in Austin, the ensemble shines performing the bread-and-butter chamber music repertoire while championing new works by contemporary composers.
Friday night's HCMS concert will feature an iconic quartet of Beethoven as well as under-performed works by Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera and African American composers George Walker and Florence Price.

2025 has been a remarkable 30th year for many reasons, and one of the most meaningful has been the release of our complete Ginastera quartets with @kierajduffy on @pentatonemusic . We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has spent time with this music and honored that the recording has appeared on several “best of” lists, including the @nytimes (on a list that also featured @badbunnypr ). Above all, we hope this recording helps bring Ginastera’s music more fully into the foreground of the classical world’s imagination
Ending our 2025 round-ups with The New York Times @nytimes Best Classical Albums 2025! The list includes @miroquartet with @kierajduffy - Ginastera: String Quartets, who we heartily congratulate on this ground-breaking release!
“The superb Miró Quartet shows how far-reaching Alberto Ginastera’s musical development was [...] The Miró’s fierce performance, along with Kiera Duffy’s ethereal singing, make a conclusive case for this unfairly neglected composer.”
