First prompt for #folktaleweek - Night 🖤Slavic deities and mythology in general are difficult to properly learn about compared to Roman or Hellenic mythology because of lack of first hand sources. It also means that throughout the regions things can differ depending on language. For example Southern Slavics like Croatians, (as myself) and northwestern Slavics have refered to same deities but with different name. 🖤Danica (Zornica, Večernica), a folk name for the planet Venus. When it appears in the morning before sunrise, it is sometimes called Zornica, and the evening appearance is called Večernica. Sometimes the evening and morning appearances of Danica are not understood as the same celestial body. Danica changes position and brightness in the sky but never moves too far from the Sun.
