Jamming with my new friend over a simple loop. I am still getting used to having 6 strings - my bow keeps bumping into the wrong string sometimes. But I love having that low range with the C and F strings… those deep low sounds make my whole body vibrate. So far, I am loving the fadolin! Thank you @ericaceto !

My finger is finally healed after months of recovery — and this theater play is my first live performance since the accident. It feels so exciting to play again! 🎻✨👆🏼
LIBERTO has been running for two weeks now and we only have one week left! I wrote the music and perform it live during the show, and I’m also acting in it — my first time on stage as an actor in my entire life! (Totally out of my comfort zone, ahaha).
The play was written by @gemmabrio , a Catalan actress I loved watching growing up. Her story is touching and powerful, and it’s been a real honor to bring it to life here in New York as its US premiere.
I feel so humbled to share the stage with two incredibly talented artists, @dancinvida and @christy.escobar . Watching them bring every nuance of the characters to life every night is a joy and an inspiration.
The projections are also beautiful and evocative, and together with the music they help bring depth and emotion to the story. It’s always a treat to work with my friends the visual artists @isabelleduverger and @laiacabrera1 !
We run Thursday through Sunday through March 1st at @theater_for_the_new_city . Tickets are $25. Come share this last week with us! 🎶

This was one of the most special and intimate concerts I’ve ever performed. The owners of the gallery XPosed on the Highline in Chelsea invited me to play in their private space, with windows overlooking the High Line. Olya and Adriaan created the perfect setting for my music: rugs, candles, and stunning visuals projected on the walls. Meanwhile, tourists and New Yorkers passed by behind me on the High Line, probably wondering what was happening in that apartment! @xposedgallery

Memories of a special evening at @barzakh . Barzakh is more than a coffee shop and a book store—it’s an oasis for understanding, co-existing and respecting the differences. Playing there felt like playing at home, surrounded by lovey old and new friends who were open to connect with my music. Such a luxury when those moments happen! I was thrilled to participate in award show “III Premis El Temps de les Arts”! The program, directed by Lluís Danés, will be broadcast on Andorra TV, TV3 and Catalan TV on Thursday, December 28th at 10:45 PM (GMT + 1).
The program was filmed in the former prison La Modelo in Barcelona, in one of its corridors where the doors of the cells were left wide open. The director crafted a gritty and mysterious ambiance, with subdued lighting, scattered dead leaves on the ground, stark white bare trees, and fog. In accordance with his vision, I performed three of my most dark and intense songs, aligning with the evocative atmosphere created for the recording. I had never been inside a prison, and it truly impacted me. I felt the weight of all the minutes, hours, days, years that human beings spent there. Now they are shadows. —————

El programa, dirigit per Lluís Danés i filmat a La Modelo de Barcelona, serà retransmès per Andorra TV, TV3 i Catalan TV el dijous 28 de desembre a les 22:45h. El programa es va gravar a la antiga presó de La Modelo a Barcelona, en un passadís amb totes les portes de les cel·les obertes. El director va crear una atmosfera crua i misteriosa, amb una il·luminació tènue, fulles mortes per terra, arbres nus i boira. D’acord amb la seva visió, vaig interpretar tres de les meves cançons més fosques i intenses, harmonitzant amb l’atmosfera evocadora creada per a la gravació. Mai havia estat dins d’una presó, i realment em va impactar. Vaig sentir el pes de tots els minuts, hores, dies i anys que tantes persones van passar allà. Ara son ombres.
One year ago, I arrived to NYC, unsure if I could build a happy life in this immense and crazy city. The first months were tough because I didn’t know anybody and the harsh winter never seemed to end. I felt like a ghost floating in the city, invisible and disconnected. But spring and summer came, the city bloomed, and I also came out of my shell. Gradually, I found pockets of community where I could put down roots and make meaningful connections. Now, a year later, I am thrilled to have made new friends and found my “frequency”. Ok, NY, I am staying!

My new album “The future of the rocks” is now available on streaming platforms and on my website MireiaClua.com. 🥳🤩🍾 (link in bio).
"The future of the rocks" is my first album for solo electric violin where I present twelve songs from my repertoire, organized to be a complete journey of different emotions across the wide range of sounds and grooves the violin can create. I composed all of these songs when I came back to my home country, Andorra, after a long adventure working in social music projects in Central America. Some songs are inspired by the reconnection with the nature of Andorra, and all the deep feelings of belonging and nostalgia that they awakened in me. Other songs are dedicated to people I love and who have left an imprint in my life. All the sounds on this album were created entirely with my electric violin and effects pedals.
The title "The future of the rocks" comes from one of the most impactful songs on the album, which represents the immensity of the Pyrenees mountains and how old they are, getting shaped slowly across millennia, while our life span is so short compared to theirs. It's about the intensity of our lives and how precious every moment is.
The cover art was created by my sister, @ireneclua , who is an amazing artist and always captures my ideas perfectly in her designs. (Hint: if you look at the cover upside down, you'll see a rocky mountain top, which is part of my dress).
The album was recorded in September 2019 during an intense week at a studio in the French Pyrenees, and mastered carefully by my dear friend Ricardo Wheelock in Nicaragua (@ricardowheelock ). Some parts were also recorded at my friend Marc Mas's studio in Andorra (@ivolution_studios ).
This album was partly sposored by a grant of Ministeri de Cultura del Govern d'Andorra, and I am greateful for their collaboration.
It was a pleasure to present “The Last Cloud”, a new exciting show we created with @desilence_ ,that combines music and visual art. The concert was part of Festival Ull Nu 2021, and it took place in front of “La Casa de la Vall” (the old parliament of Andorra). This 400 year old stone building served as a canvas for the abstract and colorful moving paintings that Desilence created to accompany my music. . It was a magical night full of excitement and emotion, and I am grateful to my friend @hectormas for having this idea and making it happen. I will to continue exploring this path, combining music with visual art. I see an exciting door in front of me…
