I'm so grateful for Summer 2000 to have reached out to me to do a custom controller for their amazing project of the "soundcube". Been a day 1 fan so it really means a lot especially for an album that means everything to me so here's some more glam photos of the wrapped controller with UV print decals printed by @thegamedungeon_
Soon enough I will be rolling out some more controllers / consoles that are music inspired by some of my favorite artists. I got lots of things planned. 👀
A closer look at the SoundCube, a SoundFont synthesizer I built this past winter inside the shell of an old Nintendo GameCube that @jameswittecook performed at our most recent show. The UI is controlled via a USB game controller and plays with any USB midi controller like a keyboard or EWI.
Starting this project I knew little to nothing about what it would take to complete it (and frankly still don't know much at all.) But I learned a lot about SBCs, Linux, SPI, 3D printing, the MIDI protocol, and much more.
Huge shout-out to @mintyscustoms_ for helping with the sick custom wrapped controller. Bryan was literally one of the first fans of c h point and has stuck around supporting everything I do. Check out Mintys Customs for all your controller customization needs.
Also shout-out to James for helping me debug this thing. The amount of iteration it needed to get to a playable state was tedious (and I literally just found a fatal bug that James somehow avoided last week.)
Why would you pay 20 bucks for one of the most easily accessible games nowadays and not on original hardware if it's not even a special remake or anything

Steam deck shell swap glow in the dark that I did for myself, this was so stressful to do but I'm glad I was able to pull it off. If it wasn't so expensive I wouldn't be stressing so much but it wasn't so bad to do after the fact 😅
