We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of a true Minneapolis legend. Jellybean wasn’t just a phenomenal drummer and musician, he was a mentor, a bridge-builder, and one of the key figures who helped shape the Minneapolis Sound. His support changed the trajectory of our lives.
In our early days, Jellybean believed in us before the world knew our name. Along with James “Popeye” Greer, he brought our music to the right ears, personally advocating for us and helping open the door that led to our first record deal with Flyte Tyme and Perspective Records. His encouragement, his knowledge, and his generosity helped lay the foundation for everything that followed. We are forever grateful.
To his family and to the entire community mourning this loss, we stand with you. Jellybean’s spirit, rhythm, and legacy will continue to live on through every musician he lifted up and every stage he blessed.
