IMsLBB 26 was a lot to process. Balanced fomo with overstimulation, sensibility with pure chaos. Didn't play as hard as I could, nor spend as much time with anyone I particularly craved (my sweet boy @yves.exe included, even though we were together for most of it). I had some fulfilling time at my barber post. Got to give someone their first straight razor shave, spiff up some friends, & also give an extra special head shave or two. I went to IMsLBB to smoke too many cigars & I did; I need some tan hankies. Found out first hand that the fastest way to get a nic rush also doesn't taste like anything until 5 minutes later, & that bootblacking & cigars go together like poppers & Huberd's. --- I've been feeling kind of burnt out for a while, much of it stemming from this feeling akin to masking: I don't always disclose that I'm trans when I'm assumed cis by other gay men, bc it's not relevant to day-to-day interactions or even casual flirting, though also bc I can usually feel myself being instantly categorized as irrelevant the moment I disclose. In other words, the exchange is: I don't mention this key part of understanding me, in order to maintain casual interpersonal relevance. It's exhausting. A few months ago, a friend jokingly (but genuinely & enthusiastically) said "just be clocky!" That's been ringing in my head, but I couldn't meet it with any drive. This past weekend I felt open, understood & desired so precisely. I simply was who I was, did what I loved, & was met with delight. Others did the same with me & whether they were even on my usual scope of interest was irrelevant bc we overlapped, sometimes transcendentally, in this pure love of Leather. Queer, subversive, joyous, hot, & punk as fuck. I am metabolizing that transcendence, cultivating it, & looking forward to how it flourishes

I wasn't interested in making a 2016 post until I realized how much of a turning point 2016 was for me. I started working at Pleasure Chest (my first pro s-x ed job, which fit like a glove), played a bunch of shows with Trashy incl opening Cracktoberfest at Warsaw (our biggest audience), &, if I'm not mistaken, that may have been the year I moved into my current apartment. I had been a Daddy to my first boy for about 2 years, though it would still be another year or two before I moved my keys & hanky to the left. I was still pre-op up top, I still succumbed to my annual urge to shave completely (sorry for the jumpscare, yves), & still cut my stache to flaunt my perfect cupid's bow. In a way, 35 wasn't so different from 45, but in another way there's a world of difference. Better, smarter, stronger, & way more experienced now, but of course I'm nostalgic.

Posted my bleachers in my stories & got how-to requests, so here's my saga. Still learning ---- I only wear old navy skinny jeans (tried everything, but that's what fits me best funny enough). I prefer Indigo. They cost $44, but I only buy em on sale, which is often. Saying all this bc that style is 1% spandex. Some ppl thrift jeans to bleach, but my point is to make sure your jeans are very sturdy (new &/or 100% cotton if possible) bc the bleach WILL break down denim. More on that later. I tried gel & powdered toilet cleaners, as well as regular liquid bleach, but bleachers need GEL bleach. The effect here was made from the cumulative despiration of all of the above. Don't be like me tho, just use "splashproof" gel bleach. Put yr jeans in the tub & don't smooth em completely flat, let the peaks & valleys of being a just a tiny bit scrunched work for you My jeans always wear out in the butt & thigh, so I tried to avoid bleaching those areas, but I went to town wherever else, making sure to pay attention to the seams, bc I wanted em to look continuous from back to front, incl the side. I drizzled bleach on some spots & let it pool in others. Idk what's best yet, as a) they didn't come out exactly as I wanted & b) the bleached area spread out in the wash big time Next, the wait. YouTube tutorials said everything from 15 min to an hour each side. Again, I used the wrong technique at first, so these took forever, but next time I'll just use gel bleach & check it every 5 minutes. Once it looks good, rinse w/cold water & bleach the other side. The rinse water will start out brown, but rinse, as they say, until the water is clear I thought rinsing in the tub would be enough, but I NEEDED to throw em in the wash (completely separate) to get the bleach smell out. Wore the jeans out & found I needed a 2nd wash bc they still smelled. The bleach smell is much less intense but not gone. A friend said to use vinegar to neutralize the bleach/scent, which turns it into chlorine. Next time. I noticed a slightly frayed seam, which made sense given all the damage, so I suggest washing your bleachers inside out.
