This is one of my favorite recent pieces. I make this by throwing a tall narrow bowl and then scraping the slip to dry and firm up the piece. And finally dropping the rim and sides to form this Pope hat shape.
A fun delicate shape for featuring small layered bites.
I'm starting a new series where I am showing off my more recent work. As some of you may know, I recently made the shift from woodworking to ceramics. I find a bit more freedom in it because I do not need a knife to start creating, and am not limited in what shapes I am able to produce.
I'll still do woodwork from time to time but as for now it'll be primarily ceramics.
