Last week, I spent the day with @blackiechaann and documented an unorthodox day in the life of a multi-talented artist. As he put together multiple fits.. we spoke on music, fashion and the influence the Sapeurs of the Congo had on him.

A few weeks ago, I lost a hard drive while traveling. This project was one of those on that drive. We drove to Georgia to capture this and all I had left to show were these 8 test images with so many of my favorites lost.
This small set felt like a reminder tho. Reminding me what’s important. Maybe these were all I needed, sorta like family.
The project took a new meaning from what I originally envisioned when conceptualizing, but the seeds we plant don’t always grow how we expect.
That’s the beauty of it.

KUDUMBAM:
A term meaning “family” in the native language of Malayalam.
I had the honor of entering the family home and garden to photograph Deon and Jis, two friends I’ve connected with over the past year, along with their Ammachi and Appacha.
I spent the day gaining understanding of their culture and every small detail that makes it beautiful. From the curry leaves Ammachi used while preparing our meal, to the fabrics Appacha used to wrap his head while working in the garden..
In my eyes, the garden represented love. Moving from your homeland of India to plant a seed in new soil. The soil that would raise a family that would eventually pour that same life right back into them.
I’m honored to help capture such an intimate moment, no words can express.

There’s something special about black & white photography. Sometimes, the only way to convey the feeling you’re looking for is to remove the color and let the subject be the focus.

Campaign work for Adidas x Bob Marley x Fresh Rags.
First time doing both video and photo for a campaign. Learning as I go. Continuing to grow.
I’ve been at an interesting point with my work as of late. Feeling uninspired and like all ideas are being recycled. Hopefully stepping into the video/directing side opens up new ideas and brings me closer to the flow state I’ve been in for the past few years.
