Join Us this Friday morning at 09h30 at 21 Bloem Street in the CBD for our first of potentially hundreds of exclusive expeditions to spaces, shrines and ceremonies that still connect us to the greatest Capetonians and all their gifts to the world!
It’s an absolute honour to have been invited to lead ten lucky Heritage Tourists on our inaugural trip to Milestone Recording Studio, the legendary site of Abdullah Ibrahim’s seminal track-laying in the mid-70’s along with nearly sixty years of fostering and immortalising Cape Town Jazz and South African Music as a whole.
In fact, you’ll get three joys in one: a behind-the-scenes wander through the studio and discussion around its wall-of-fame, a little history of Cape Town music from yours truly and a trip to our friend @fortherecord_cpt on Canterbury Street afterwards to browse their selection of SA Jazz to satiate your hype!
Tickets will be R300pp for the whole morning and strictly limited!!
This is truly unprecedented access to such a marvellous institution and I hope you share my sheer excitement for future excursions!

We had some fun days in studio with @stef_bos and @mauritzlotz . They were developing and tracking ideas for new songs--always a fascinating process. It’s our luck to observe such experienced musicians at work!
Archives! A post-bop tune I wrote some years back titled “On The 7.” I was playing around with the C min/maj7 sound, some whole tone scales and augmented triad patterns at the time and it inspired the melody. We’re finally laying these tunes down in the studio! (It’s been a long wait, I know). Looking very forward to recording my debut album alongside my homies at the award-winning @milestone_recording_studio in Cape Town this year. A big thank you to @standardbankarts for supporting the vision and pouring into it 🙏🏾 Exaaait 🙌🏾

Our current TDP cohort took on an epic studio hop between Cape Town’s best music hubs, making the last few weeks of the program memorable and a perfect introduction to the Industry Access graduate program!
Tours like these show our co-creators just how many work opportunities the industry has, and that they’re already stepping into those rooms.

When Murray produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered Somandla in 2018, we couldn’t have imagined the trajectory of Mandisi and his music, or what it would mean for so many people, here and further afield. It’s our honour to have recorded all three albums and be part of capturing these sacred offerings, and a joy to watch their release.
