LB, just like that you’re one!
I feel like this quote is pretty fitting to being a parent.
“If you don’t stop and look. around once in a while, you could miss it.”
6 months and we’re finally home❤️❤️
6 months of mom living at the hospital with Blakely and dad living at home with the dog. 6 months of living apart from your spouse, only seeing each other on weekends and FaceTime. 6 months of our daughter going through procedures and surgery. 6 months of unknowns, endless questions, exciting moments, rough days and happy tears. 6 months of feeling happy and sad at the same time.
It’s been an emotional and surreal day but we are so so happy to finally be able to bring our daughter home and start our life as a family of 4 (can’t forget Wrigley!)🤍🐾
Blakely is happy, healthy, goofy and the strongest little girl out there. She has taught us how to be resilient, patient, positive and to never give up.
We are forever grateful to the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff at BC Children’s & Women’s hospital. The care, knowledge and compassion shown there is truly unmatched🤍
And the support from our friends and family will never be forgotten. We could not have made it through this time without the love, support, check ins, and visits to the hospital with endless food and coffee. It’s easy to be a friend in the good times, but those who are there in the hard times are the ones who mean the most. We love you🤍
We’re home❤️
Our daughter, Blakely Eva Ellie Laing🤍
She came quick into this world on May 26 at 4:51 a.m at 4 pounds 2 oz and we could not be more in love with our sweet little girl.
She’s tiny, beautiful and loves to stretch her legs.
We think she’s going to be a baseball player because she’s throwing a bunch of curveballs so far. The road ahead is long for the three of us, with Blakely needing surgery and a long hospital stay at BC Children’s.
A huge thank you to all the staff at BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital for taking such incredible care of our family🤍
