And many, many more absolutely incredible crew! 🥂
Azalea Christina Bernstein joined the party on May 3rd a couple weeks ahead of schedule! We headed home the next day but then ended up spending a lot of last week in the NICU. Anyone who has had to leave their baby at the hospital knows how hard it is, even when you know you’re getting the best care. But we’re finally back home! She is so loved and adored and I am so incredibly grateful to have our family together.
Azalea is inspired by the azalea’s at Nuccio’s Nursery that was up the street from us in Altadena. During the fire everything around it burned but the flowers survived. Christina is for my dad, Chris. This is his 10th grandkid. She’s already showing us how tough she is. ❤️
#Cinematographer Andrew Wheeler (@wheels41215 ) takes us #behindthescenes of the @liquiddeath #Superbowl2025 spot, shot with #Panaspeed lenses and serviced by #Panavision Woodland Hills.
“[The look of the spot is] wholesome and earnest. We really gravitated towards this overall idea that each character, and even the commercial itself, doesn’t believe it’s doing anything provocative or edgy in any way whatsoever. Drinking (water) on the job is great and perfectly okay and healthy, and we fully encourage it. There’s nothing controversial about it.
We looked at a ton of old school ‘90s beer commercials [for inspiration]: This Buds for You, Tap the Rockies, and Coors The Right Beer Now. We wanted it to have this feeling of harkening back to the good ol’ days, but without going so far as to make it an artifact of the past. It’s heavily backlit. Lots of strong contrast and deep shadows. It’s warm—everything is very idealized.
I have been working with [Panavision Marketing Executive] Mike Carter and Panavision for many years now and [director] Mike Bernstein and I have been working for over a decade together. There’s a history, familiarity, and reliability we can always count on as well as knowing that we can find the right look and tools we need for any given project working with Panavision.”
