Miju Lee is a South Korean artist based in Busan whose practice moves between painting and sculpture to create immersive fictional worlds inhabited by yetis, hybrid beings, and mythological presences. Blending dreams, mythology, and personal imagination, Lee constructs shifting landscapes where identities remain fluid and transformation is constant.
Through soft palettes, layered imagery, and atmospheric installations, her works blur the boundaries between the human, natural, and spiritual worlds. Suspended between tenderness and mystery, Lee’s universe invites viewers into spaces where fantasy becomes a way of understanding memory, emotion, and collective experience. @mijuleee

In “Más allá de la montaña - 산을 넘은 자들 - Those Who Crossed the Mountain”, Miju Lee reimagines the figure of the Yeti not as a mythical creature to be discovered, but as an ancestral presence inhabiting a world of its own. Suspended between the human and the non-human, the familiar and the unknown, these beings exist in a state of continuous transformation. Porous, elusive, and deeply connected to nature, memory, and myth.
Through painting, sculpture, and installation, Lee constructs an immersive environment where viewers no longer observe from a distance, but enter a living territory shaped by dreamlike and spiritual dimensions. Here, the Yeti becomes a figure of transition: a reflection on identity, belonging, and the invisible forces that connect worlds.

Each year seems to bring new challenges. Work, relationships, and even my creative process—nothing gets easier. Just when I feel I’ve leveled up, an even bigger hurdle appears. It feels like the slow, grueling process of turning from an apple into a kiwi, but I keep taking one step forward.
Still, I am surrounded by so much gratitude. Twenty photos aren‘t enough to capture the help and the support I received from so many people to make this exhibition happen. Thank you for standing by me, even in my shortcomings.

Geot & Sok
Acrylic & Epoxi on metal sculpture 120x160x50cm /100x130x40cm 2023
GEOT & SOK
Inspired by the relationship between a book and its slipcase, this work focuses on the moment when what is meant to be shown (Geot, the outer surface) and what lies inside (Sok) appear in different forms.
When the handle is pulled, a form emerges— similar to the exterior, yet subtly distorted.
Rather than fulfilling expectation, the reveal slightly unsettles it (though sometimes the opposite can happen).
I am interested in that brief sense of misalignment— the fleeting moment between anticipation and reality. This piece attempts to capture precisely that instant.
Currently on view in the group show ‘Visual Manifesto’ at Marc Bibiloni Gallery @marcbibiloni , together with works by many great artists.
We are delighted to announce that on April we will present:
Those Who Crossed the Mountain / Más allá de la montaña
A solo exhibition by Miju Lee (South Korea, 1982)( @mijuleee )
An immersive installation that invites the viewer into an unfamiliar territory, where a silent yet vivid community unfolds beyond the mountain.
Stay tuned!
