Such a privilege to be provided the space and support for my vision to come to life. The show is up this weekend and the next on Fridays and Saturdays if you want to come see it in person!
I'll be having an artist talk on July 24th discussing my thought process on the pieces I produced during the residency so lookout for any announcements on that :) ❤️
Huge thanks to @judebird.0 who took the time to teach me how to paint film in the first place. I would not have completed this project without her expertise, she's a wonderful filmmaker and incredibly kind for helping me!
Another huge thanks to @sasmade , My wonderful mentor who guided me through the residency. I've learned so much from her throughout this experience and her endless support and encouragement made my experience even more incredible.
Full film will be on my website very soon for viewing pleasure
"Holy Saturday", 31"x46", Acrylic & Graphite on paper
Very special moment at my partner's childhood home after an Easter egg hunt with his family. Swinging on the swing his Dad made for him when he was a child.
Here are some spreads from my first ever riso printed zine "Nonlinear". This has been a 3 week process and the actual zine is 28 pages. So much I learned and so much hair pulling and teeth clenching spending hours upon hours for weeks printing. Smudged so many pages, misaligned, track marks, page size is so off and I am very inexperienced in book binding. She is SO imperfect and despite it all there are so many moments I feel very proud of. This zine is very different from my past zines that are more structured. My own printed diary, a collection of poems that have informed me, moments in my life that I want to archive.
There are only 4 copies and they are all incredibly fucked and imperfect! I won't be selling them but wanted to share the fruits of my labor. ❤️I learned so much, and I'm so excited to make more and learn more.
Swinging Doraemon that hangs above my bed, Acrylic on paper, 8.5"x11"
My lovely friend Rosie bought this for me for Christmas after I posted a screen shot of the ebay listing on my story a few months back.
Sweet surprise,
a tender moment
I continue to be proven that I am seen. 💙
