Also, I truly love deejaying weddings. As long as the couple has good taste in music. Lol.
Last night, I played one of my favorite sets of my ENTIRE life. All vinyl. All classics.
The lore and legend of @danteshifi actually doesnât even do it justice. It is truly a deejayâs paradise.

I donât even wanna spoil what I played (although I will say I played an acapella beatbox version of âDancing Queenâ that crushed) but swipe thru for the vibes.
I totally wanna do more all-vinyl sets ASAP. Holla at me. đ
(Fun fact: I did this with a sprained left rotator cuff - shout out to my physical therapist for keeping me in the game so I could do this gig.)

One reason Iâve been sharing more lessons from deejaying lately is because I think the skills behind it apply way beyond music.
(And the feedback I received from the creative community on last weekâs Substack proves this!)
The skill is never just playing songs. Itâs understanding context. Sequencing ideas. Thatâs curation.
And honestly, I think curation is becoming one of the most valuable creative skills right now.
Everyone has access to the same tools. The same AI. The same ability to generate endless content. The difference moving forward wonât be who can make the most.
Itâll be who has taste. Judgment. Restraint. A real point of view.
Thatâs what Iâve spent 20+ years learning through music, rooms, crowds, brands, and culture.
And I think those lessons apply to almost every kind of creative work now.
