Thank you to all that came out Wednesday night to celebrate BAXTER ST's new home. It was inspiring to see so many of our artists, alumni, supporters, and partners. This space now truly feels like BAXTER ST! • Our two inaugural exhibitions reflect our deep commitment to community. 'The Lams of Ludlow Street' by Mid-Career Initiative Artist Thomas Holton (@thomas_holton_photography ) is a deeply personal body of work chronicling the evolving lives of a single Chinese-American family in Manhattan’s Chinatown over more than two decades. The work offers an intimate exploration of identity, belonging, and the unscripted moments that define family life. • 'The Reinforcements' by BAXTER ST Resident Qiana Mestrich (@qianamestrich ) shares a series of photo collages visualizing the labor history of Black and immigrant women of color in America’s corporate workplace. Initially inspired by images of her mother, who worked in sales in the late 1960s, the series expands into a broader investigation of the overlooked visual and social histories of women of color in office environments from the Civil Rights Act of 1964 through the early 2000’s. • If you weren't able to join us last night, we hope you will come by soon to see these exceptional shows and our new home. • And finally, thank you to Casa Lumbre (@casalumbrespirits ) for the delicious cocktails and Bang & Olufsen (@bangolufsenus ) for the sweet sounds. Your contributions helped elevate the celebration of this milestone in BAXTER ST's history. • Image Credits: Lloyd McCullough

For us, art isn’t just collected, it’s lived, shared, and rooted in community. Our founder Michi Jigarjian explains how the pieces she acquires aren’t merely objects, but conversations, markers of personal evolution, culture, motherhood, and connection. At the link in bio, discover the full interview with @michijig on The Art Newspaper.

Listen in as Michi and I discuss community building and designing platforms, interruptions, problem-solving, what my next step can be, ecosystems of athletes, perfect practice, flow, bringing the creative back into the game, what actually matters, how women lead differently, deserving to sit at the table, things that are bigger, who provides agency, how we do both, finding joy, loving to host, sport hobbies, letting things grow bigger than you, seeing actual change happen because of Art, and non-transactional conversations! @workofartholdings @michijig @artarena.world

⭐️🧡💫 Sonia is an amazing artist that I'm lucky to call my friend for so many years. It's always a joy to work with friends and this project has set the bar higher than ever- she collaborated with WNBA All Star and @nyliberty player @breannastewart30 in the concept of the mural and it has brought not only a fresh mural of movement but a newly paved leveled black top to our adjacent public park @therockawayhotel this project is in partnership with @jbrpc and I want to thank @kirbyfkane for really leading the charge on this one from the @workofartholdings team!
