I made another quilt coat!! This is the #oscilateyquiltcoat from @oscilatey
I made this coat for my supremely cool sister-in-law using kantha fabric that she picked out and was shipped directly to me from India. It is reversible, has big pockets inside and outside, and it's so soft and cozy, but also lightweight! This coat came together much quicker than the previous quilt coat I made, due to the pre-quilted fabric, and I was able to troubleshoot some minor issues due to having made that previous coat. I'm obsessed with how this turned out, and she loves it!!! My nephew said she looked like a famous person walking around downtown pdx wearing it 🤣

After a week back in reality, I took a little time to compile some (way too) brief highlights from a recent trip to Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, I think I got everything in the right order! Cutting this down to three minutes was painful, and I didn't even include any photos (maybe a second reel or slideshow to come). This trip was packed full of activities: Tlaquepaque wandering & shopping & meeting the Governor of Jalisco! Day trip to Tequila for tour/tasting/bottling! Whale watching on a yacht! Chappell Roan drag! and also plenty of down time (cabana day, ocean swims, pools galore!), loads of good food + drinks (Bruna in GDL and Cafe Luna in Tlaquepaque were highlights!), lots of laughs, a little dancing & accidental wedding crashing! Just a magical vacation overall. TAKE ME BACK! 🌴☀️😎
Happy release day to @stitchedbystarlight for her Cabin Beneath the Stars quilt pattern!!! I tested the Queen sized block using scraps and it was one of the most fun projects I've done in recent memory, and the pattern has so many useful aspects, Amy really puts a lot of thought into her patterns to make it as clear as possible for other sewists. Playing with the color placement of each strip as I went around and around, and seeing it come together so perfectly was quite a treat. I have this little cutie hanging up in my office at work so it can bring me joy every day. Scroll thru for quilt flapping in the wind during a sun break, laying out the first center area of the block, scrap sorting, and my slowly getting more colorful office.
