The NEW Studio Museum in Harlem. Stunning, glorious, and a fitting tribute to the history of this great institution. A gift to the city and the world. It was an honor to be on the first tour of the new building given by the incomparable and oh so inspiring director Thelma Golden. I especially appreciated the guiding themes of the street, the stage, and the sanctuary. Bravo to the team for a job well done. (And of course a shout out for the wonderful archival displays!!).

Sonia Gomes Ó Abre Alas! at Storm King Art Center. Final days - not to be missed. The artist’s first solo show in the U.S., it includes an elegantly installed exhibition in the main galleries as well as an outstanding large-scale installation outdoors.

Fantastic to see “Twisting, Tying, Hanging” the first solo exhibition in Portugal by Sonia Gomes at the Kunsthalle Lissabon. Love the organic, tactile sculptures, with all the fabrics, textiles, tensions. And the two dimensional work made me fondly recall working with Sonia for the beautiful book she created for MoMA’s Library Council.
