In 2019, we graduated from a sound design class of just four students.
So, when @nickmatthewssound asked if he could bring the next generation of aspiring audio pros to the studio, I expected a similar small group.
Turns out, I was wrong.
13 students ended up tagging the name board. And for a while, they joined us to chat about game sound design.
What a great sign for the future of audio!

Yes that's the sun not the moon. The reflection from the sea below was brighter than the sun because it peaked just under the cloud. It makes looking off the end of the mountain a very surreal experience because your entire field of vision is taken up by a giant glowing box of untouchable light. I'm sad that it's unphotographable. It would be nonsense.
Mort is stuck on the mountain.

From the edge of the gorge we heard the sounds of birds and people echoing against the tall rock walls. Our claps came back with an impressive second-long delay. I recorded an impulse and used it to apply the same echo on mort's voice back at the studio. It was a real pleasure working with such a talented professional. Thanks @mort for all your hard work.

In March we collaborated with @_inekt and explored the rooftops of Cape Town to find the perfect spot for capturing the city. We're excited to use these recordings in our music and films because using your own sound makes the project feel more intimate. You may not notice it but using true South African sounds makes a film feel like home.
