Hello! Chopping wood is leaving less time for music at the moment, but I've managed to record a quick album (written and recorded in under a month 😎). Here's a video to get you excited, once again featuring Jess Collins' mesmerising dance. I'm playing at the George Tavern on May Day @turningoftheseasons.ldn and I'm mega excited to be on the @fitm_festival lineup this year! I will try to book some other shows otherwise I'm busy scurrying around the country for the foreseeable. I will release more information about the album imminently... thinking of calling it 'Michael Rice sings the Blues' 😎
One rafter rotted away so I made a new sister rafter to sit with nestled into this old one. I hope as siblings they get on well, despite the five-hundred year age gap!
New songs etc. i was spotted busking on Sunday by @filmfromanya (who took this pic) who was also at ivy house gig by @turningoftheseasons.ldn a few weeks ago. Also I included a video taken at that gig by @_eve.1s1_ and a demo of a new song :)))
Have had a quiet, dry(ish) and reflective January and feel grateful to have had loads of time to write lots of songs. Here’s one from yesterday. Loving playing the harmonica in dominant key- sounds mega bluesy. Hope to release lots of music this year :)))
