Stills from a short doc about a patient, little Abubkarr’s journey with Mercy Ships. 🎥 This was one of my first patient stories to follow with @mercyships , so it’s very dear to my heart. 🧡⛴️
Abubakarr was born with extra toes which meant that even though he could live with it, he couldn’t wear normal shoes and was provoked and mocked in society. The lack of health care and resources meant that he hadn’t received surgery before. Thanks to help and care onboard the Global Mercy, he was able to get surgery for free. Making it possible for him to return to society, enjoying life as a little child should be able to do.
Enjoy some BTS at the end! 🎬

Short documentary with @unity_the_vision in Sierra Leone. This project felt like a great excuse to get to know this city, the culture and the beautiful people that form part of it. 🇸🇱🧡
Unity is a fashion brand that partnered with artisans from the streets of Freetown, Sierra Leone to bring their new collection. We asked the makers and people of this beautiful country, what does unity mean to you?
Boku tenki to @diekvt for inviting me to film this, the creative collaboration and your heart for this nation.
Shout out to @paulaamonge , @romeo_uri for all the help and big thanks to all the people in front of the lens. ❤️

Documenting the people behind the mission! 🔌⚡
Recently, I had fun filming and putting together a short recruitment piece for @mercyships following my friend Timo. He's one of the volunteer electricians onboard the Global Mercy. He served alongside his wife, Ines, who worked onboard as a nurse.
From surgeries to switchboards, every role onboard helps make the mission possible and it was a privilege to help tell that story. It was a fun challenge to try to capture a variety all that life working onboard can entail, and Timo was the right person to show that!
Thanks @timo_eschbach for letting me follow you around for the day! 🙌🎥
Following patients through their journey is a big part of my work as a filmmaker with @mercyships —but Musu’s story hits especially close. 🎥🧡
She was the first patient I documented onboard the Global Mercy in Sierra Leone. 🇸🇱 After a severe burn accident from hot water—something far too common for children in communities here—she had restricted mobility in her arm and faced provocation in her community.
Seeing the physical and emotional transformation after surgery and being able to capture that, has been truly special.
These stills only tell a small part of her story—watch the full film on the Mercy Ships YouTube page.⛴️
Grateful to the team involved!

What does a carpenter do onboard a hospital ship? ⛴️ 🔨
This is a fun pilot project for a video series called ”What Keeps Us Afloat”, how different unseen departments onboard are vital to the mission of @mercyships .
I had fun mixing documentary style with some fun POV shots. Also I really enjoyed following carpenter Will Ballantyne around and seeing the work he did on ship. This ship is filled with people like Will that use their skill to serve a bigger purpose and keeps this ship running. I hope to highlight more of the incredible people and departments on the future.
Souvenirs du Sénégal 🇸🇳
The landscapes and people here are truly inspiring, I’d love to collaborate on a film project in this beautiful country one day.
Portraits of Senegal. 🇸🇳
I’ve loved discovering the country where my wife Sofia spent her childhood. Experiencing the rich culture and meeting the beautiful people of this nation.
60 sec promo video for @mercyships ! I had a ton of fun capturing Joy in her work as a volunteer nurse onboard the Global Mercy and showing a fragment of what it means to serve here. 🩺⛴️ Thank you all who were involved! 🫶🏼

Analog photo dump from life at @mercyships in Sierra Leone pt 1. 🎞️🇸🇱
At times I’ll have a small point-shoot on me, just to remember what an adventure life here can be.
