Last week I had the privilege of presenting a staged reading of my new solo show āAll the Men We Might Have Beenā in front of a small audience at @lamamaetc .
That day people asked me āhow do you feel!?ā My true answer then was āI donāt feel anything right nowā. For better or worse I learned from my blue collar family how to put my head down and get the work done. Last week my head was down, and I was doing my best to get the work done.
Today my head is up, and I can feel. I do feel some pride, but mostly I feel grateful.
To La MaMa and @yael_haskal for the opportunity to develop this fledgling work.
To my family for filling me with stories.
To my friends for bearing witness, and showing me the way forward.
And to those weāve lost who exist in this work in small and large ways.

Late summer sun, eyes on autumn.
Truthfully I am not sure what this app even is any more.
I have a desire to follow the trend and say āhere are photos of me from the summerā. I have a desire to say āI think this is a great photo of meā. I have an equal desire to just not.
Today is the first day of autumn, but hard seasonal lines are for calendars. So Iām gonna go outside, feel the sun, and read.
